Student answer (Band 6.0)
Water is a natural resource and essential to life. It is one of the basic human rights to have a access to clean water. Moreover, it should be free of charge. I, strongly agree with the statement because of its value in life.
Firstly, water is basic need to survive. It provides us hydration which is important for us. It is essential in chores such as cooking, cleaning, washing, or personal hygiene. People living in developed or developing countries are able to have an access to clean water by just turning their taps on or it is easily accessible in many other ways. However, it is challengnig to have a access to clean water in some of the developing countries. For instance, in Africe, many individuals either do not have an access to clean water or they are forced to use uncleaned water. It is much easier for wealthier people to have a access to clean water. On the other hand, poor people struggle to have any water or atleast clean water. People spend more of their time, trying to get water for their basic needs. Having unclean water leads to many diseases i such peoples lives.
If water will be accessible to everyone, it will make people's life much easy as there will be one less problem to deal with. People will be much healthier and can contribute in many positive thing in life or society. People will have faith in government, that it can provide them with basic needs. For instance, many politicians are able to get votes, just promising them an access to clean water.
To conclude, I would like to say that every person on the planet have a right to have a access to clean water regardless of their circumstances. It is on the important responsibilities of the government to provide them an access to clean water and that is free of cost. It provide people a sense of equality.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you strongly agree that clean water should be provided free, and you address both its importance for survival and the government’s responsibility. The examples of people in parts of Africa lacking safe water and politicians promising access are relevant. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that free access would make people healthier and more able to contribute to society could be developed by explaining how reduced waterborne illness affects families or communities. The discussion also moves between access to clean water and a completely free household supply without clarifying whether all water use should be free or only a basic amount. A more precise explanation of this distinction would make the argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining the need for clean water, a paragraph on its wider benefits, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “However,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the main direction. Overall, the ideas are arranged coherently, but connections within paragraphs are sometimes loose. The first body paragraph shifts from water’s everyday uses to unequal access, then to time spent collecting water and disease; clearer links would show how each point supports the argument for free provision. Some transitions, including “On the other hand,” do not establish a strong contrast in context. Use topic sentences and more precise referencing to make the progression smoother and avoid repeating “access to clean water.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “natural resource,” “hydration,” “personal hygiene,” “developing countries,” and “basic needs.” This gives you enough range to communicate the central argument, and the meaning is generally understandable. However, several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems reduce precision: “unchleaned water” is not the natural expression, “much easy” is awkward, and “positive thing” is too vague. There are also repeated phrases such as “have an access to clean water,” which make the vocabulary sound limited. Aim to use accurate topic-specific collocations and vary repeated wording; for example, refer to “safe drinking water” or “reliable household water supply” where appropriate. Proofreading would also catch spelling slips such as “challengnig” and “Africe.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “If water will be accessible to everyone” and a relative clause in “the government, that it can provide them with basic needs.” The overall meaning is usually clear, but some errors in articles, agreement, verb forms, and sentence construction remain. Examples include “water is basic need,” “every person … have a right,” and “It provide people,” where the article or verb form needs correction. The conditional should be “If water were accessible to everyone, it would…,” and “I, strongly agree” should not contain a comma. Work on checking subject–verb agreement and article use, while practising accurate conditional structures. Greater control of these patterns would make your argument easier to read.
