Student answer (Band 5.5)
Water is an essential ingredients of our diet and access a clean water is a basic right of every human being. So, it is necessary that every home should have an easy and free of cost access to a clean water supply. I agree with the statement because water is basic need of every home and it should be free of cost.
First of all, drinking clean water is essential beacuse it does not effect the health of people. As many diseases occured to drinking of unhygienic water. So it is necessary that for the wellbeing of every one it should be provided without any charges.
Second of all, there are many people especially in developing countries with low income. Cost of living in these countries is already high. So, they cannot afford or paya bill of clean water supply or it might effect their budget. To fascillitate these people clean water supply should be free. For example, in many developing countries clean water supply is free for the people having low income.
Admittedly, free of cost clean water supply may put extra burden on governments. So the economy of the country might be effected. This issue can be addressed through proper planning.
In conclusion, free supply of clean water may effect the economy but access to clean water free o fcost is much necessary

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You take a clear position in favour of free household water and give relevant reasons: protecting health and helping people on low incomes. The example about developing countries also supports your affordability point. However, the ideas are brief and mostly asserted rather than explained; for instance, “proper planning” is offered as the answer to the financial burden without saying what governments could do. The response also does not fully explore what “free of charge” would mean in practice or address possible limits to the proposal. The stated minimum length is not met, which leaves less room to develop your reasoning and examples. Extend each main point with explanation or a specific, relevant example to make the argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two supporting paragraphs, a concession, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “Second of all,” and “Admittedly” help signal the stages of your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and repeated “So” links ideas without showing their precise relationship. The health paragraph, for example, moves from clean water to disease and then to free provision very quickly, leaving the reasoning under-explained. The final sentence repeats the main position but does not clearly resolve the concession about economic effects. Use a wider range of accurate links and develop each paragraph around one connected chain of explanation.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic vocabulary to communicate the main argument, including “clean water supply,” “low income,” “cost of living,” and “burden on governments.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make the writing less natural. Examples include “free of cost,” “effect the health,” “occurred to drinking,” and “fascillitate.” Some phrases are also repeated, particularly “clean water” and “free.” Aim for more precise, natural expressions and check spelling carefully. For example, “free of charge,” “harm people’s health,” and “support low-income households” would express your ideas more idiomatically and help you avoid repetition.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, such as “Cost of living in these countries is already high. So, they cannot afford…” However, the range remains limited, and frequent errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and verb forms sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “Water is an essential ingredients,” “access a clean water,” and “it does not effect the health of people.” The sentence beginning “As many diseases…” is incomplete, while “free supply of clean water may effect the economy” needs more accurate grammatical phrasing. Practise building complete complex sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check singular/plural agreement and articles before submitting.
