Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you agree that clean water should be supplied to homes without charge, and you give relevant reasons, including health risks from contaminated water and the financial burden of buying water. You also introduce a related qualification—that residents should avoid waste and the government should manage supply hours. However, these ideas are only briefly explained, and the response does not fully explore how free provision could be funded or how rationing fits with the promise of a supply for every home. The example about purchasing water during inflation is relevant but remains general. The response is 9 words below the required minimum, and the shortfall contributes to limited development. Extend your reasoning and support it with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The main position is easy to identify, and transitions such as “Meanwhile” and “To conclude” help signal changes in direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear. In the second paragraph, the move from disease to buying water and then to the burden on people is abrupt, while the final body paragraph introduces government regulation without clearly connecting it to free access. Some linking phrases, including “In this regard” and “For instance,” do not lead into fully developed explanations. Use clearer topic sentences and explain the relationship between each reason and your position; this would make the argument flow more logically rather than relying mainly on signposting words.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “contaminated water,” “diseases,” “water supply,” and “Government,” so the reader can follow the subject. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “basic human right” and “overall system.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to understand: “primary human right,” “each residency,” “the burden … tends to be fell less,” and “regulize the hours.” Spelling errors such as “diherrea,” “dirastic,” and “benficial” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural, precise expressions and check spelling; for example, use “each household,” “reduce the financial burden,” and “regulate water distribution.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional structure in “if water supply is provided to each home free of cost it prove to be beneficial.” However, complex sentences are often not controlled accurately, and frequent errors sometimes make the meaning harder to follow. Examples include “their should be,” “it prove,” “people are suffering,” and “the burden … tends to be fell less.” Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention: “Access to purified water is primary human right” lacks an article, and “food is.If” needs punctuation and spacing. Practise subject–verb agreement, verb forms after modal or conditional phrases, and sentence punctuation. Proofreading each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb would improve accuracy.
