Student answer (Band 6.0)
Water is one of the most important things for humans daly life and getting clean water is considered as basic human right throughout the entire world. But there is a ongoing argue that people should have water supply at their home without any cost. I totally disagree with the statement. This eassay will discuss why supplying water should not be free.
To begin with, people are already facing a shortage of water in all over the world. One of the major reason is we are not aware of that water levels are decreasing day by day under the ground and we are wasting water without considering the trouble. Though we need water in our everydays life but we are wasting water a lot such as People left their tubewell open, use more water than indeed etc. If we don't maintain the charge system for the water this waste of water will be more increased. Then they will think it is free, there is no need to use it carefully. In all the countries government and social NGO's are trying to make awreness in people for not wasting water. Morever, in many countries authorities has also enforced fine if anyone waste water.
In addition to, there are lots of industry around the world who are ensuring the water supply to people's home and several employess are working there. If they don't get the oppurtunity to charge the coustomers for the supply, a large number of people will lose their job. It will increse the unemployement which is not a good sign for a country. This can also make impact in economy of a country. There should be a minimum cost at so that the industry can run and people can have their job. There are also some instrumental cost needed for maintaing the supply chain of water. So for obvious, if they can't get money from people they can't run the company and it also indicates the job lose. However, if the company are not getting enough money there remain a possibilty that the provding water quality and safety is not so satisfied. People can get the lowest materials and unhygine water supply and that's a major threat for human's health. Throughout the world, a large number of people are getting infected by water disease. So, we can't overlook these threats.
At last, it can be said that water is very important for humankind. But there are sveral reason for not supporting the idea of water supply should be free. There should be a charge to ensure the water safety and not make any wastage of water.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I totally disagree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the question with relevant reasons: charging may discourage waste, and revenue can support employment, infrastructure and water safety. These points show a sound response to the task. However, some ideas are more fully explained than others. The water-waste argument is supported with examples, while the employment and economic claims are asserted more than demonstrated; the link between charging households and preventing job losses could be made clearer. The discussion of water quality is relevant, but it would benefit from a specific example or explanation of how fees fund treatment and maintenance. Develop each main reason with a clearer chain of explanation to make the argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “In addition to,” and “At last” help signal the stages of the argument. This gives the essay a coherent progression. However, some linking is mechanical or inaccurate, and several ideas are crowded together, particularly in the second body paragraph, where employment, company costs and water safety appear in quick succession. The repeated use of “So” and “However” does not always show the precise relationship between claims. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the links between cause and consequence explicit; clearer topic sentences and more focused paragraph development would strengthen cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “shortage of water,” “charge system,” “supply chain,” “water quality,” and “human’s health,” so the reader can follow the main argument. There are also attempts to express more specific ideas about infrastructure and employment. However, the range and control are limited by frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word forms or collocations, such as “eassay,” “awreness,” “employess,” “job lose,” and “water disease.” Phrases such as “there is a ongoing argue” and “the lowest materials” are also unclear or unnatural. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, even though the intended meaning is usually recoverable. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common topic collocations, rather than relying on direct translations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “If we don't maintain the charge system … this waste … will be more increased” and clauses introduced by “Though” and “if.” This shows an effort to vary sentence forms. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, plurals and sentence construction recur. For example, “One of the major reason is” needs a plural noun, while “authorities has also enforced” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The sentence beginning “Though we need water…” is not smoothly connected to a main clause, and “There should be a minimum cost at so that” is structurally faulty. Practise checking each sentence for a complete clause, correct agreement and clear punctuation.
