Student answer (Band 6.5)
Access to clean water is essential for human survival, and everyone should have the right to use it. I strongly agree that every household should receive a basic supply of clean water for free of charge because it is necessary for good health and can reduce poverty.
One significant reason supporting this view is that clean water is essential for maintaining good health. People need safe water for drinking, cooking and personal hygiene. if households have to pay for all their water, poor family maybe struggle to afford enough of it, which could lead to serious health problems. For example, in developing countries such as Bangladesh, people in low income communities sometimes face difficulties accessing safe drinking water. Providing a free basic water supply would help prevent waterborne deceases and improve peoples quality of life.
Another contributing factor is that free water can reduce the financial burden on disadvantaged families. Many people already struggle to pay for food, housing, education and other essential needs. If they did not have to pay a basic amount of water free of charge, while charging for excessive use. This system would ensure that everyone has access to clean water while encouraging people to avoid wasting this valuable resource.
In conclusion, Is strongly agree that every home should receive a basic supply of clean water free of charge because it protect people health and supports low income families. Nevertheless, charging for excessive consumption would help ensure that water is used responsibly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction and conclusion: you support a free basic household supply, while accepting charges for excessive use. You address relevant reasons, including health and the financial pressure on disadvantaged families, and the Bangladesh example helps illustrate the health point. However, the second reason is less fully developed: you list other household costs but do not explain in detail how free water would ease hardship or how the proposed charging system would work. The response therefore covers the task, but some ideas need fuller explanation and support. The stated minimum length is not met: the response is four words short. Add a brief, relevant explanation or example while developing your argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and the conclusion restates your position. Linking phrases such as “One significant reason,” “Another contributing factor,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. The contrast between a free basic supply and charges for excessive use also gives the argument a useful organising idea. However, some connections are mechanical, and the sentence beginning “If they did not have to pay…” is incomplete, which interrupts the flow between the affordability point and your proposed system. Develop transitions within paragraphs and make the relationship between the free allowance and excess-use charges explicit in a complete sentence.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “human survival,” “personal hygiene,” “waterborne diseases,” and “financial burden,” which communicates the main ideas clearly. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “disadvantaged families” and “excessive consumption.” Some word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors limit precision: “free of charge” is awkward after “for,” “deceases” should be “diseases,” and “low income communities” would be more naturally written as “low-income communities.” “People quality of life” also needs a possessive form. Aim to check spelling and use natural collocations consistently; this would make the vocabulary more accurate and flexible without changing your clear meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex structures, including conditional clauses such as “If households have to pay…” and a relative clause in “a basic supply … that is provided free of charge.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “poor family maybe struggle” has problems with number and verb form, while “If they did not have to pay …” is left without a main clause. In the conclusion, “Is strongly agree” and “it protect people health” show errors in subject–verb structure and agreement. Capitalisation after full stops is also inconsistent. Review complete sentence structure, verb agreement, and possessives, then proofread punctuation and capital letters.
