Student answer (Band 5.5)
IN RECENT YEARS, THERE HAS BEEN A DEBATE REGUARDING WATER USE. SOME PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT WATER SUPPLY SHOULD BE PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE. ON THE OTHER HAND SOME PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT GOOD TO TOOK CHARGES ON WATER CONSUMPTION. PERSONALLY, I AGREE WITH THIS STATEMENT, THAT IT IS GOOD TO TAKE CHARGES ON USE OF WATER BECAUSE IT'S HELP TO REDUCE DANGER OF WATER SHORTAGE.
ON THE ONE HAND, PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT HUMANS HAS RIGHT TO USE WATER. SO THERE WILL BE NO CHARGES ON CONSUMPTION OF WATER. THERE ARE SERVERAL REASONS BEHIND THAT. WATER BILL CHARGE WAS INCREASED HIGH IN RECENT TIME. MOST OF PEOPLE DONT AFFORD IT. HOWEVER, IN SOME VILLEGE THERE IS NO PROPER ARRANGEMENT FOR WATER PIPELINE SO VILLEGERS DEPEND ON RAIN AND WELLS BECAUSE THEY CAN NOT AFFORD WATER BILLS. FOR INSTANCE MOST OF PEOPLE WHO LIVING IN VILLEGES ARE FARMERS. THEY DONT RAISE GOOD INCOME. AND IN RURAL AREA ALSO NOT EVERY ONE AFFORD WATER BILL AND CHARGES OF WATER METER.
ON THE OTHER HAND, SOME PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT IS GOOD TO TAKE CHARGED ON WATER USEAGE. IF WE ALLOW PEOPLE TO USE WATER FOR FREE THEY SHOULD BE MISSUSE OF THAT. THEY STORE IT NOT THINKING BEFORE USE. IF PEOPLE ALLOWING TO USE WATER FREE CAN BE THREATE FOR FUTURE FOR SHORTAGE OF WATER. FOR INSTANCE, IN INDUSRTIAL AREA MOST OF FACTORY WANT WATER FOR PRODUTION LIKE IN FOOD PRODUCTION OR IN CHEMICAL FACTORIES. ALSO SOME BIG COMPANY WANT WATER TO COOLDOWN THE SERVERS OF COMPANY.
IN CONCLUSION, WE KNOW THAT SOME PEOPLE NOT AFFORD WATER BILL. BUT THAT NOT MEANS THAT WE ALLOW TO USE IT FOR FREE. GOVERNMENT PROVIDE THEM SOLUTION. IF CIVILIANS ALLOW TO USE FREE WATER THEY JUST MISSUSE THAT. THAT'S WHY IT IS GOOD TO PUT CHARGES ON WATER CONSUMPTION.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You state a clear position in the introduction and conclusion: you support charging for water because this may reduce shortages. You also acknowledge the opposing view that some households cannot afford bills, and the examples of rural residents and industrial users are relevant to the topic. However, the response only partly addresses the central claim that every home should receive a free basic supply. Much of the argument shifts to whether water use should be charged generally, without distinguishing essential household use from excessive consumption or commercial use. The reasons are also under-developed: for example, you assert that free water would be misused but do not explain how charges would prevent shortages or protect low-income households. Develop this distinction and support each main claim more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps the reader identify the main stages of the argument, and signposts such as “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” make the contrast clear. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from water bills to village infrastructure and farmers without clearly connecting these points to the claim about free household water. Several links are mechanical or unclear, including “So there will be no charges” and “If we allow people to use water for free they should be missuse of that.” Use clearer cause-and-effect links and refer back explicitly to the main argument to make the reasoning flow more smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a basic range of topic vocabulary, including “water supply,” “water consumption,” “water shortage,” “water bills,” and “industrial area,” so the subject is generally understandable. However, vocabulary is limited and repeated, and noticeable spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the meaning harder to follow. Examples include “reguarding,” “villege,” “missuse,” and “prodution,” as well as unnatural phrases such as “take charged on water useage” and “good to took charges.” Aim for accurate collocations and more precise terms: for instance, distinguish “charge households for water” from “provide a free basic allowance.” Proofread spelling and word forms, and use a wider range of relevant expressions to explain affordability, essential needs, and conservation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the overall meaning can usually be understood. However, the range of structures is limited, and errors occur frequently, particularly in subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “humans has right” needs agreement and an article, while “Most of people dont afford it” has an incorrect determiner and verb pattern. The sentence “If people allowing to use water free can be threate for future” is difficult to interpret because its clause structure is incomplete. There are also run-on or fragmented sequences, such as “They dont raise good income. And in rural area also not every one afford water bill.” Practise building complete clauses and checking agreement, tense, and punctuation.
