Student answer (Band 5.0)

Availability of clean water is the basic need of every individual on earth, so water supply services should be free of cost. I partially agree with this statement. water supply organizations provides water free to their customers because of unaffordability and approach towards other sources. I disagree because these chaeges could ne source vof earning for employees.

One major reason is that people can not afford water supply charges monthly as they do not have enough source of earning. water is entirely used in all activities at home without water life become strange. Another reason is that communities can approaach other sources of water supply like boring system in the land. by this technique they can get water according to their need and they can also get rid of charges as well.

On the other hand, water supply organizations have hired employees to serve community and they have to pay them monthly and they only have souces to provide them salary are those charges they get through community. For instance, water supply commette has no financial support from government to maintain their expenses so they totally depends upon the charges they receive monthly.

In conclusion, water should supply globally free of cost to maintain the affordability of consumers and to avoid extra charges they used to have their own boring system to compete their needs, while because of no funds from the government initiate private organisations to maintain monthly charges to maintain salaries to their employees.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a position—“I partially agree”—and include reasons on both sides, so the response is relevant to the question. However, the position is not consistently clear: the opening says water “should be free,” while the later argument says charges are needed to pay employees. The reasons are also limited or insufficiently explained. For example, the claim that people cannot afford monthly charges is not supported with a specific example, and the alternative of using a “boring system” does not clearly establish why household water should be free. The conclusion repeats both sides without resolving how they fit your partial agreement. The response is four words below the required minimum, which also limits the development of your ideas. State a precise position and explain the conditions or policy behind it.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting different arguments, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “One major reason” and “On the other hand” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, and the relationship between ideas is not always clear. In the first body paragraph, affordability, household water use, and alternative sources are placed together without a clear explanation linking them. The conclusion is especially hard to follow because several points are joined into one long sentence. Improve cohesion by giving each paragraph one main point, explaining it in a logical sequence, and using clear references and sentence boundaries rather than relying mainly on basic signposting phrases.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “water supply,” “affordability,” “charges,” and “financial support.” These terms help communicate the main subject and show some attempt to use topic-specific language. However, the range is limited, and inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling sometimes make the meaning difficult to understand. For example, “approach towards other sources” does not clearly express the idea of accessing alternatives, while “boring system” appears to mean a borehole or well. There are also misspellings such as “chaeges,” “commette,” and “souces.” Aim for precise, natural phrases and check spelling carefully. Using a few accurate alternatives for repeated words such as “charges” and “water supply” would also make the response more flexible.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “On the other hand” and a reason clause beginning “because.” However, the range remains limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to read. For example, “water supply organizations provides” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “water life become strange” has problems with agreement and sentence construction. The opening of the second paragraph also begins “water” without appropriate capitalization, and the conclusion joins several clauses in a way that obscures their relationships. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause, and check agreement, articles, capitalization, and punctuation before submitting.
