Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You state a clear position—“I complete with agree this statement”—and give relevant reasons, including water’s importance for drinking, cooking and health, as well as the difficulty poor families may face paying bills. However, the response is far too brief to develop these points, and the example about government provision is asserted rather than explained. The required minimum is 250 words; the response contains 81 words, and 9 words copied from the prompt were not counted. As a result, the task is only minimally addressed: there is no developed discussion of why water should be free in every home, how this could be funded, or any counterargument. Extend each reason with explanation and a specific example, while maintaining your position throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic sequence: an opening states your view, followed by a paragraph beginning “First of all” that gives a reason and an example. This makes the main direction understandable. However, the essay is too short to show sustained progression or effective paragraph development, and the links between claims are sometimes abrupt. For instance, the move from poor families being unable to pay to the government providing water is not explained. The opening and body also run together without clear paragraph separation. Use distinct paragraphs for your position, each main reason, and a conclusion; connect claims with clear explanations rather than relying mainly on “First of all” and “For Example.”
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “basic human right,” “clean water,” “good health,” and “water bill,” so the reader can identify your central subject. However, the range is narrow and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear or natural, such as “belive,” “essintial,” “familes,” and “governament.” Some expressions are also awkward, including “other cleanings house” and “free the clean water.” Build a wider set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling carefully. For example, you could refer to “household water bills,” “access to safe drinking water,” and “government-funded provision” to express your ideas more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You communicate your basic position using simple sentence forms, and the opening attempts to connect a reason with “because.” However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and the response shows little variety beyond short statements. Examples include “water essential for human life,” which needs a verb, and “Poor families are not pay,” where the verb form is incorrect. The sentence “The government provide free the clean water” also has problems with subject–verb agreement and sentence structure. Punctuation and spacing are uneven, particularly around commas and full stops. Practise complete subject–verb sentences first, then combine them with accurate clauses using “because,” “although,” and “so that.”
