Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is oftents argue that fress water should be free of charge because is necessary for humans, while some people may have different view in this issue, i strongly agree with this statement. My stances is disscuse forther in upcoming pargraph with valid resion and apporate examples.
The primary reason why I agree with this view is that clean water is necessary for a healthy life. People need water for drinking, cooking, bathing, and cleaning their homes. If families have to pay high prices for water, poor people may not be able to afford enough for their daily needs. As a result, they may suffer from health problems and diseases. For example, families living in poor areas may use dirty water if they cannot afford clean water. Therefore, providing free water can improve public health and reduce poverty.
Another significant reason for my position is that free water can help create a fairer society. Everyone, regardless of their financial situation, should have access to this essential resource. Governments should provide a basic amount of clean water to every household without charge. However, people should avoid wasting water because it is a limited natural resource. The government could charge extra fees for excessive water consumption to encourage people to use it carefully.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that every home should receive a free supply of clean water because it is essential for human survival and public health. However, people should use water responsibly to ensure that it remains available for future generations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I strongly agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the central issue with relevant reasons: clean water supports health and daily needs, and free basic access promotes fairness. The examples about low-income families potentially using dirty water and the proposal to charge for excessive use help support your argument. This fits a response that covers the task and extends its main ideas. To strengthen the development further, explain more specifically how a free household supply could be funded or managed, and clarify what amount should count as a basic supply. The opening promises examples, but the body relies mainly on general scenarios rather than a detailed, concrete example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your position. The progression from health to fairness is logical, and linking phrases such as “As a result,” “Therefore,” and “However” help show relationships between ideas. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some features of more flexible progression. However, the opening sentence is difficult to follow, and the introduction’s final sentence (“My stances is disscuse…”) does not clearly guide the reader. Some transitions, especially “Another significant reason,” are predictable. Use a concise thesis statement and connect each example more explicitly to the claim it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “essential resource,” “public health,” “financial situation,” and “excessive water consumption,” which allows you to express the main argument. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors weaken precision, particularly in the introduction: “oftents,” “fress,” “disscuse,” and “apporate.” Phrases such as “free water” can also be imprecise, since your argument concerns a basic household supply rather than unlimited use; “a free basic water allowance” would be clearer. This fits a limited but adequate range, with errors that sometimes make the reader pause. Build accuracy by checking spelling and choosing precise collocations, while retaining the useful topic-specific terms already present.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mixture of simple sentences and some complex structures, such as the conditional “If families have to pay high prices…,” the result clause “As a result…,” and the concession beginning “However.” Most of the body and conclusion are understandable, but the opening contains several grammatical problems that make it hard to read: “because is necessary for humans” lacks a subject, “some people may have different view” has a number error, and “My stances is…” has faulty agreement and sentence construction. There are also punctuation and spacing slips, including the comma splice in the first sentence. Aim to make the introduction as controlled as the body, and practise accurate clauses, articles, and subject–verb agreement.
