Student answer (Band 5.0)
Clean water is essential for all beings on the planet to live. It is the right to have free access to water for beings. I completely agree that water should be access to all the people in the world.
The most apparent reason why access to clean water should be a basic right as it is essential to stay alive. This is primarily because human beings can survive without food and other needs, but they cannot live with out water. Therefore, access to clean water is a basic right of all human beings. For instance, in desert countries governments supply purified drinking water, by using desalitation process. If supply of clean water is not assured it can cause extinction of beings in the world.
Providing clean water for free is also important to make it available to everyone. The is mainly because clean water helps us to be hydrated and maintain of homeostasis. As a result, water helps us with normal functioning of our bodies. For example, in many experiments during Holacaust found that humans cannot live without water. If clean water is made inaccessible to people a majority of world population can die without hydration.
In conclusion, although clean water is essential for all humans governments should strive to provide it all humans without any cost because it basic neccessity of every human being to live. The govenments should ensure

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear at the start: you completely agree that water should be available to everyone. You give relevant reasons, including survival and the importance of hydration, and attempt examples involving water provision in desert countries. However, the response only partly develops the task: it does not clearly examine the claim that every home should receive water free of charge, such as how this could be funded or delivered. Some support is also unclear, particularly the reference to experiments during the Holocaust. The conclusion is unfinished (“The governments should ensure”), which leaves your final point incomplete. The response is 20 words below the required minimum, and the limited development contributes to the task being only partially addressed. Develop each reason with a clear, relevant explanation and complete the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the paragraphs broadly separate your reasons. Linking phrases such as “Therefore,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from survival to desalination and then to possible extinction without fully explaining the links. The second example is also not clearly connected to the point about hydration. Some transitions feel mechanical, and “The is mainly because” interrupts the flow. The final sentence stops abruptly, weakening the ending. To improve, organise each paragraph around one main claim, explain it step by step, and ensure every example directly supports that claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “basic right,” “purified drinking water,” “hydrated,” and “homeostasis,” showing an attempt to discuss the issue beyond very basic terms. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make parts less clear. For example, “water should be access to all the people” is not a natural expression, while “desalitation process” and “Holacaust” are misspelled. “Extinction of beings” is also an imprecise way to describe the consequences of water shortages. Repetition of “clean water,” “basic right” and “human beings” further limits flexibility. Build a more precise set of phrases for access, supply, affordability and public provision, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons and results, such as “This is primarily because…” and “If supply of clean water is not assured…”. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently, including in attempted complex structures. The opening claim “The most apparent reason … as it is essential” lacks a complete grammatical construction, and “The is mainly because” is also faulty. Other examples include “they cannot live with out water,” “helps us … maintain of homeostasis,” and the incomplete final sentence. Punctuation and spacing are inconsistent, as in “needs, but.” Practise forming complete clauses, checking subject–verb and article use, and proofreading sentence boundaries. Clearer, more controlled sentences will make your reasoning easier to follow.
