Student answer (Band 5.0)
water means life & getting clean water is one of the primary need for us. in our world, the portion of water is 3 out of 4 whereas land is only 1 portion out of 4. But the irony is there is a huge scarcity of clean pure water which is a basic necessity of human being and the govt should provide clean water freely to the people.
So, now I will start with my opinion, why I am agreeing with this statement.
Firstly, there are a huge number of people died and suffering from many diseases which are caused by water. Lots of diseases are contaminated from water like scabies, diarrhoea, cholera etc. Besides these people are suffering from diarrohoea because of drinking dirty water which is not purified.
Getting free and easy access of pure drinking water is such a compplex thing that it can't be provided by the govt.? Why do the people of slum need to fight in each time whenever thwy need pure water? why do we have to buy a 250ml water bottle with 20 tk..? why do most of the people have to cross a long way to collect pure drinking water.?
Isn't it mandatory that the pure drinking water should be a very available thing to the human being?

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You take a clear position in favour of free water, and the references to water-related illness and people in slums having difficulty accessing it are relevant to the question. However, the response addresses the issue only partially: it does not explain in enough detail why every home should receive water free of charge, or consider how such a policy could be provided. The claim that water causes diseases is also imprecise; contaminated water can spread illnesses, so explain that link accurately and support it with a specific example. The response is 33 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your reasons. Add a developed supporting paragraph and a conclusion that restates your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic sequence: an introduction, a statement of agreement, and points about illness and access. Connectors such as “Firstly” and “Besides” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, the progression is not sustained: the series of questions about slum residents, bottled water, and long journeys is not organised into a clear supporting argument, and there is no concluding paragraph. Some links are also awkward or repetitive, such as “So, now I will start with my opinion,” which announces the essay rather than advancing its reasoning. Group related points into paragraphs, explain how each supports your position, and use a final paragraph to draw the argument together.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “scarcity,” “contaminated,” “purified,” and “basic necessity,” which helps communicate the subject. The range is nevertheless limited and several choices or spellings make the writing less clear or natural. For example, “diseases are contaminated from water” does not express the intended relationship; “waterborne diseases” or “illnesses spread through contaminated water” would be more precise. “Pure” is repeated often, and “a very available thing” is an unnatural phrase. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “compplex,” “thwy,” and “diarrohoea.” Build a wider set of accurate expressions for access, supply, affordability, and water quality, and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a relative clause in “diseases which are caused by water” and a conditional contraction in “it can't be provided.” However, the range is limited, and frequent errors in agreement, articles, sentence boundaries, and punctuation sometimes make the message difficult to follow. For instance, “the primary need” should be “a primary need,” while “there are a huge number of people died” needs a structure such as “a huge number of people have died.” The opening begins with lowercase letters, and several questions have inconsistent capitalisation and punctuation. Practise building accurate complex sentences and proofread each sentence for a clear subject, verb, and complete structure.
