Student answer (Band 6.0)
A basic right of every human is having the availabilty of clean water. That is why water supply to each household should be provided free of cost. Since water from natural sources is available throught our planet, it should be distributed evenly to all humans. Secondly, humans cannot survive without water which makes it is a necessity. I believe that every human should have access to clean water.
Since our planet's water source is in the form of rain, glaciers and rivers. It is unethical to charge for water which exists naturally. Furthermore, it is the responsibility of every government to provide clean accessible water to it's citizens as they already charge taxes from their citizens. For example, the cost of the infrastructure used to supply water from the natural sources to each household is already covered by the revenue generated from taxes.
Additionally, water is crucial for the survival of every human being on this planet. Every human has the right to clean drinking water regardless of the fact if they can afford it or not. This is why governments should move towards a solution on providing free accessible water for everyone. For example, if a person goes without drinking water for three days the chances of survival becomes low. We should move towards solutions like building more dams and collecting rain water so no human has to go through this issue.
In conclusion, since water exists naturally on this planet and it is also crucial for survival. I believe that each household should have access to a water supply at all times.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that households should receive clean water without charge, and you give relevant reasons based on water’s importance for survival and the government’s responsibility. The tax-funded infrastructure example helps explain how public provision might be paid for. However, the argument that water occurs naturally does not fully establish that supplying treated water to every home should be free; collection, purification and delivery also require resources. The survival example is relevant but general, and the proposal to build dams and collect rainwater is not developed into a clear explanation of how it would ensure free access. Develop these points and address the practical costs or limits of your proposal to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present reasons, and a conclusion restates your position. Paragraphs generally focus on one main idea, and signposts such as “Furthermore,” “Additionally” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening “Since our planet’s water source is…” is a sentence fragment, and the link between natural water sources and the claim that charging is unethical needs fuller explanation. The conclusion also repeats the main claim without drawing together the two reasons. Use transitions to show how each example supports its paragraph’s point, and vary the linking language rather than relying mainly on additive markers.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your position, including “natural sources,” “infrastructure,” “revenue,” “survival” and “accessible water.” These choices show some range beyond basic everyday language. However, several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “availability of clean water,” “provided free of cost,” and “move towards a solution on providing.” There are also spelling and word-form errors, including “availabilty,” “throught” and “rain water.” Repetition of “every human,” “water” and “citizens” limits flexibility. Aim for more precise collocations and vary repeated terms—for example, refer to “households,” “residents” or “the population” where appropriate. Proofreading spelling and choosing natural phrasing would make the argument clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “Since water from natural sources is available…” and a conditional example beginning “if a person goes without drinking water.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. “Since our planet’s water source is…” is a fragment, while “which makes it is a necessity” contains an incorrect clause structure. In “the chances of survival becomes low,” the plural subject does not agree with the verb; “regardless of the fact if” also uses an incorrect grammatical pattern. The final sentence begins with “since” but is not joined to a main clause. Practise complete sentence construction, subject–verb agreement and conditional phrasing, then check punctuation and clause boundaries.
