Student answer (Band 6.0)
Clean water plays an essential role in human lives which provide healthy and long life to every human body. The basic human rights should include a fresh water supply to everyone with free of cost. I partially agree with this statement and discuss both views in forthcoming paragraphs before giving a well-suited conclusion.
To begin with, fresh water supply create a environment where people can drink water from everywhere with no worries of diseases come from water. To explain it, when government will provided water supply with filteration to every home especially in slum area, the risk of pandemic spread from water will be reduced. A large number of people reported dangered in many countries due to lack of fresh water or paid water supply, so they unaided and used to consume dirty water. For instance, in 2019, the Global Times issued a report that around 18% of people infected globally by Cholera because they have no sources of fresh water in their locality as they used to drink river water comes from the factories and industries.
Towards shift to disagreement, the free usage of clean water may have several bad effects. If government provides free water supply to everyone its precious value will be lost. Generally, people do not value free things and it became their habits and they will flowed a large amount of water in their wasteful needs. Apart from that there is no life without water and if they waste it just because it is free, it will not justifiable because the proportion of drinking water is relatively less available in our Earth.
To conclude, by considering both aspects with evidence, although clean water supply should have basic human right but there might be some precutions should be need for this to save our planet.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address the central issue and present a qualified position: you support access to clean water but recognise that completely free use could encourage waste. The discussion includes relevant reasons, such as reducing waterborne disease and conserving limited drinking water, and the Cholera example attempts to support your first point. However, the position is not fully clear: the introduction says “partially agree,” while the conclusion does not specify whether households should receive a free basic supply but pay for excess use. Some claims, including the statistic attributed to the Global Times, are not explained or connected clearly to the argument. Develop the distinction between a basic human right and unlimited free consumption, and make your final position explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting free access, a contrasting paragraph about waste, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “To begin with,” “Towards shift to disagreement,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the broad progression, and the two main arguments are separated appropriately. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the clearer progression associated with a stronger performance. However, several links feel mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is sometimes unclear—for example, the sentence about people being “unaided” does not clearly connect the lack of supply to the example that follows. Use more precise referencing and connect each example directly to its claim; also ensure the conclusion resolves the contrast rather than simply referring to “both aspects.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “water supply,” “risk,” “diseases,” “precious value,” and “proportion of drinking water.” There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “pandemic” and “ Cholera,” although the latter is not used accurately in the sentence. At this level, the range is adequate but control is uneven: phrases such as “with free of cost,” “dangered,” “fresh water,” and “wasteful needs” are inaccurate or unnatural and sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Spelling and word-form errors, including “filteration” and “precutions,” also affect precision. Build a bank of natural collocations for water access and conservation, and check word forms and spelling during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure beginning “If government provides…” and a subordinate clause explaining the disease risk. This gives the response some structural variety, but control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make sentences difficult to process. Examples include “fresh water supply create,” “when government will provided,” and “it became their habits,” where agreement or verb forms are faulty. Articles and sentence construction also need attention, as in “a environment” and “although clean water supply should have basic human right.” Practise accurate present and future forms in conditional sentences, subject–verb agreement, and article use. Shorter, carefully checked sentences would help you express the argument more reliably while you develop complex structures.
