Student answer (Band 5.5)
Every human being has a fundamental right to be provided with clean drinking water. That's why every house should have an active water connection which don't cost money.
I completely agree with this statement. Clean water is one of the very basic things which humans need in order to survive. It is the duty of the state authorities to make sure the supply of clean water to every home. In the modern era where industries are growing so fast, the waste material is also increasingly getting mixed into the natural water resourses. Even the waste from humans is also destroying the natural water reserves. When people drink or use this water for cleanliness, it cause a lot of health issues some of which are so lethal to cause death. In many countries people are relying on self build small water filters in their homes. Most of the time it is the poor who suffer. In many under previllaged countries, people are very poor, they can't even afford these expensive water purifyers and they don't have access to clean drinking water. They are forced to use or drink the unhygeinic water. Their kids are suffering from many diseases.
Government must take action and spend money to build water filteration plants in the whole country near the populated areas, either it is a big city or a small village with 200 people. There should be staff on these water purifying plants, who should be responsible to maintain the hygeine of these places and filters on the plants should be cleaned regularly. People should be provided this clean water either through pipes or by providing them access to the inside of plants from where they can fetch clean water in their containers.
I think clean water should be provided to people free of cost. It is the one of the blessings that people can have on earth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the opening and maintained throughout: you agree that households should receive clean water without charge. You support this with relevant points about contamination, health risks, and the difficulties faced by poorer communities, then suggest government-funded treatment plants and ways to distribute water. This addresses the task well. However, the response focuses more on ensuring access to clean water than on explaining why the household supply itself should be free; for example, it does not discuss how charging might affect access or how free provision could be funded. Some points, such as the effects on children, are asserted rather than illustrated or developed. A fuller explanation of these issues would make the argument more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining the problem, a paragraph proposing government action, and a conclusion. The ideas generally follow a sensible order, moving from the need for clean water to practical provision. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose, and several points are placed together without clear links. The repeated use of “In many countries” and “In many under previllaged countries” makes the development feel repetitive, while “When people drink or use this water…” shifts abruptly into consequences. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to your argument about free household supply. More precise referencing would also help readers follow which water source or group each sentence refers to.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “fundamental right,” “natural water reserves,” “health issues,” and “water filtration plants.” These choices communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited by repeated general words such as “water,” “people,” and “clean,” and some expressions are imprecise or unnatural. For instance, “self build small water filters” and “water purifying plants” could be expressed more idiomatically, while “the one of the blessings” is an awkward phrase. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “resourses,” “previllaged,” “purifyers,” and “hygeinic.” These do not prevent understanding, but careful proofreading and more precise collocations would improve clarity and control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional-style explanation of health consequences and a relative clause in “filters on the plants should be cleaned regularly.” The overall meaning is usually clear, but errors occur in several sentence patterns. For example, “which don't cost money” has incorrect agreement with “connection,” and “it cause a lot of health issues” has a subject–verb agreement error. “It is the duty … to make sure the supply” is missing a grammatical link, and “either it is a big city” is not correctly formed. Some long sentences also combine several ideas without secure punctuation. Review agreement, infinitive and clause patterns, and sentence boundaries; greater accuracy in these areas would make your varied structures easier to follow.
