Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is often argued that every house should be facilitated with clean water without any charges, as its a basic human right. I completely agree with this view because financial condition of every person is not the same and not only for those in special forces but everyone should have it for free.

Many people can't afford to pay bills for every basic facilities in their house. Economy nowadays is getting worse and lower class people with lower salaries are struggling. Human's need water for drinking, cooking and cleaning, it becomes very challenging to survive without it. For example Every month governments should provide a specific liters of water to every house for free. Additionally, they can construct water filter plants over different areas of the city. Decesions like this will help everyone in accessing clean water and use it in their daily lives.

Residents of areas living in cantonments, having families from background in army, navy or airforce. At the same time, governmnet officers residing in luxury socities often have access to clean water without paying a singe penny. This creates a sense on injustice and unequality because poor person who is paying tax and his money is being used to feed families of uper class citizens is unfair. For example if water is only available for free to people with high status in society but not middle class people then it will create a conflict among the society. If government decides to provide such facility then they should revise the policy and provide clean water to everyone for free not a certain part of the society.

In conclusion, I strongly believe that everyone should have the right to use clean water free of cost and should be available at every household because it's a important part of human life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the opening: you completely agree that clean water should be free for everyone, and the conclusion restates this view. You give relevant reasons, including affordability for lower-income households and the importance of water for drinking, cooking and cleaning. The examples of public water provision and filter plants also relate to the proposal. However, some points are less fully developed than others. The discussion of cantonment residents and government officers shifts towards unequal access for privileged groups, but the link to how a universal free supply would work is not explained in detail. Develop the practical implications of your proposal and support each main reason with a clearer explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress from affordability and basic needs to unequal access, and linking expressions such as “Additionally,” “At the same time” and “In conclusion” help signal relationships. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and the connection between ideas is not always clear. For instance, the paragraph beginning “Residents of areas living in cantonments” is a sentence fragment and moves abruptly into a comparison with government officers. The repeated use of “For example” also makes the development feel formulaic. Use clearer topic sentences, connect examples explicitly to the claim they support, and ensure each paragraph develops one central point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “basic human right,” “lower class,” “accessing clean water” and “sense of injustice.” This gives you enough range to communicate your main ideas, and some topic-specific expressions are appropriate. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “facilitated with clean water,” “a specific liters of water” and “feed families of upper class citizens.” Spelling errors, including “Decesions,” “governmnet” and “unequality,” also reduce the accuracy of the vocabulary. Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling carefully; for example, describe households as “provided with” water and refer to “a specified amount” rather than “a specific liters.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and conditional structures such as “If government decides…”. Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. For example, “Human's need water” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “Residents of areas living in cantonments” is not a complete sentence. There are also problems with articles and sentence construction in “it's a important part” and “should be available at every household.” Review agreement, articles and complete sentence structure, and use punctuation to separate long or joined ideas. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen the response.
