Student answer (Band 6.0)
Water is the basic necessity for every human being in the world. Some people believe that every human has a right to clean water. Hence, water availability should be provided without any charges. In my opinion, I agree that access to clean water supply should be free for every home.
To commence with, clean water supply is beneficial for every human being on the earth. It is matter of everyday observation that access to clean water with no charges can save money which can be used for other purposes. To illustrate, in my society the water facility is free whcih saves a lot of money whcih is later used for electricity and gas bills. Moreover, clean water availability with zero charges can prevent people from many diseases. For example, in many countries water is so costly that people use synthetic or dirty water that causes different health diseases. Furthermore, the main benefit for free water supply is that it is accessible to every class and ethnicity. To subtantiate my point poor people can also have an advantage of clean water and people in rural areas or less developed areas can also have an access to clean water. Therefore, water should be provided without any charges for convenience.
On the contrary, As we all know that access to clean water without charges can also be difficult for the government. For instance, goverment departments use these charges for the development of the country. In addition, if people are given free water they ussually waste alot. To demonstrate, I have seen in many areas that people waste water alot when it is provided free while charging for clean water can also make them learn the value of clean water.
In the view of the above discussion, I strongly agree with the free of charges clean water initiative. As it can save lives of many people and prevent from disease and can provide healthy and secure environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction to the conclusion: you agree that clean water should be free for every home. You address both the benefits and a counterargument, including affordability, health, access for poorer and rural communities, government costs, and waste. The examples from your society and observations help make the points relevant. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that free water prevents disease would be stronger if you explained how reliable, treated water reduces exposure to contamination. The government-funding concern is also introduced but not weighed against the benefits or answered. This covers the task well overall, but fuller development and a more explicit response to the opposing view would make the argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting free provision, a paragraph presenting concerns, and a conclusion that restates your view. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” and “On the contrary” help signal relationships between points. The progression is generally understandable, though the first body paragraph contains several benefits in quick succession, with limited explanation connecting them. Some transitions feel mechanical, and “On the contrary” introduces a counterargument without showing how it relates to your overall position. The conclusion begins with “In the view of the above discussion,” but its final sentence is not smoothly connected to the preceding one. Grouping related points and using clearer references between claims would make cohesion more flexible and natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “clean water supply,” “government,” “diseases,” and “rural areas,” and the reader can follow your main meaning. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “To substantiate my point.” However, several expressions are unnatural or imprecise: “water availability should be provided,” “with zero charges,” and “learn the value of clean water.” Repetition of “free,” “clean water,” and “a lot” also limits range and precision. Spelling errors such as “whcih,” “subtantiate,” “goverment,” and “ussually” are noticeable. Aim for accurate collocations and more specific wording—for example, distinguish between a free basic allowance and unlimited free use—while checking spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, using clauses introduced by “that,” “which,” and “while,” as well as examples and contrast. Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make sentences awkward. For example, “It is matter of everyday observation” is missing an article, and “people … can also have an access” uses an unnecessary article. The sentence beginning “As we all know that” has an incorrect clause pattern, while “As it can save lives…” is a fragment rather than a complete sentence. There are also punctuation and capitalisation issues, such as “On the contrary, As…”. Practise complete sentence structures, articles, and clause linking, then proofread for sentence boundaries and consistent capitalisation.
