Student answer (Band 5.5)

Fresh drinking water leads to a healthy life. Human rights provide clean water to every human being. It should be free of cost, but there are some exceptions in this statement. Therefore, i partially agree with this notion and discuss my own views in forthcoming paragraphs before giving a well-suited conclusion.

To begin with, fresh water has numerous benefits in human lives. It creates a aid free society where humans can live healthier and happier. The quality of water in slum areas make wrost everyday due to underdevelopment infrastructure or poisonous water has flowed by the factories. In these areas, people can not afford a paid water supply, so it is the responsibility of government that they take some necessery action to provide a fresh water supply at no cost. The most serious factor was faced in the times of summers when demand of water increases rapidly and these communities faced life threatning challenges. Therefore, to build to better community along with a healthy lifestyle, it is a best approach to provide clean water supply into these types of territories.

Despite its benefits there are some negative factors which should not be ignored. When the government provide fresh water with no charges to everyone, water may lost its precious value. Water considered as a life saver because there is no life on Earth without water. When people devalue water and waste it on unnecessary things such as overflow, washing, it may create dangerous factors for our upcoming generations because availability of fresh water is relatively less on the Earth. Furthermore, the taxation system of country faced losses as government revaived water tax, so it may also be harmful for a country's overall development.

To conclude, it is evident that fresh water is an essential part of every people's life but its drawbacks alert us before taking any action.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you partially agree, supporting free provision for disadvantaged communities while warning that universal free supply could encourage waste and reduce tax revenue. These points are relevant and address both sides of the question. The discussion of slum areas and summer shortages gives the first argument some context, but the claim that free water would make people devalue it is asserted rather than supported with a concrete example or explanation. The conclusion also repeats the general importance of water without clearly restating the conditions behind your position. Develop the contrast more fully—for example, distinguish a free basic household allowance from charges for excessive use—and explain how this would protect access while discouraging waste.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “To begin with,” “Despite its benefits,” and “To conclude” make the stages easy to follow, and the main ideas generally progress logically within each paragraph. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, several links feel formulaic, and connections between claims are not always explicit: the move from water waste to national tax losses, for instance, needs a clearer explanation. The conclusion is also brief and does not fully synthesise the two arguments. Use referencing more precisely and add transitions that show cause, contrast, or consequence rather than relying mainly on standard signposts.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “human rights,” “underdevelopment infrastructure,” “availability of fresh water,” and “overall development.” There are also attempts to express more specific ideas, such as water shortages in slum areas and the effects of factory pollution. However, the range is limited by repeated use of “water,” “fresh,” and “provide,” while several inaccurate word choices or collocations make meaning less clear. Examples include “a aid free society,” “water has flowed by the factories,” and “government revaived water tax.” Spelling errors such as “necessery,” “wrost,” and “threatning” are also noticeable. Build a more precise set of topic phrases and check collocations and spelling so your intended meaning is consistently clear.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “When the government provide fresh water with no charges to everyone…” and a reason clause beginning “because.” This shows an effort to vary sentence forms, but control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “The quality of water … make” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “When people devalue water and waste it … it may create” has an unclear pronoun reference. There are also issues with articles and sentence construction, as in “It creates a aid free society” and “to build to better community.” Practise checking agreement, articles, and clause structure, and revise long sentences to ensure each pronoun clearly refers to the intended noun.
