Student answer (Band 5.5)

Since clean water is a fundamental human need, some contend that water should be at no cost. In my opinion, a water supply should not be free of charge altogether. Instead, the cost of water should be minimized, so that everybody has access to it.

On the one hand, governments a moral and social obligation to supply their zitizens with this basic need. Individuals should have enough water to cover their daily needs such as cooking, driking, and sanitation. If this need not met, it may lead to a deterioration in public health and even the spread of diseases. For example, many countries have already exerpienced such a problem, with the spread of malaria and cholera. Moreover, free water can help to reduce inequality. Low-income households, in particular, often struggle to meet their basic needs. As a result, this can negatively affect the government's economy.

On the other hand , Acess to clean water is a basic human right and its is quite understandable, therefore every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge is quite goes in negative way . If water will provided free of charge to every home ,then there will be waste of water will be done because ,when human get a natural thing with unlimited want , it will going to be waste in somehow . They will use water in every way for cooking lentils , drinking and many more things, But still they will waste water without even thinking .Water should supply with clean area and also mineral water to every house with cost of minimized so every family will get acees of mineral water .

In conclusion , i strongly believe that every home should have a water supply that

is provided in minimized cost , so every home will afford clean and minieral water for basic necesstities .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is identifiable: you reject completely free water and argue that its cost should be minimized. You also give relevant reasons, including access to daily necessities, public health, inequality, and the risk of waste. However, the response only partly develops the task. The first body paragraph supports affordable access, but the second is difficult to follow and does not clearly explain how charging a modest amount would prevent waste or how this relates to the claim that every home should receive water free of charge. The example of malaria and cholera is also asserted rather than explained. Develop each reason with a clear link to your position and a specific, relevant example. The 32 words copied from the prompt were not counted in the supplied length check.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognizable introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, and signposts such as “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” show an attempt to organise contrasting points. However, progression within the second body paragraph is unclear: it moves from the human-rights claim to waste, then to examples of water use and mineral water, without making the relationships between these points explicit. Some linking phrases are also used mechanically or inaccurately, and the conclusion repeats the position without drawing the reasons together. Plan each paragraph around one main claim, then explain and support it in a logical sequence. Clearer referencing and more purposeful transitions would make the overall argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “fundamental human need,” “public health,” “inequality,” and “low-income households.” This gives you a basic range for discussing the issue. However, errors in spelling, word form, and collocation are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning difficult to interpret. Examples include “zitizens,” “driking,” “exerpienced,” “Acess,” and “minieral.” Phrases such as “the government's economy” and “there will be waste of water will be done” are also imprecise or unnatural. Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than adding vocabulary that does not fit the sentence. Proofread spelling carefully and use straightforward expressions such as “reduce water waste” and “affordable clean water.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “If this need not met, it may lead to…” and a concluding clause beginning “so every home will afford…”. However, many sentences contain errors in verb forms, sentence construction, articles, and punctuation, which can make the argument hard to understand. For example, “governments a moral and social obligation” is missing a verb, while “If water will provided free of charge” has an incorrect conditional form and passive construction. The long sentence beginning “Access to clean water is a basic human right” also lacks a clear grammatical structure. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them; check that each sentence has a subject and correctly formed verb.
