Student answer (Band 5.5)

Water is essential for all living organisms. The availability of water is basic human right for all the people around the world. Hence it is necessary that every person should have free of cost clean water access. I strongly agree with given statement, as human can not live a week without water.

As human basic rights are water, food, education, and medical treatment. But the first basic right is access of pure water. We need water for various purpose such as drinking, cooking, cleaning, and other basic needs. According to doctor a adult person should drink 8 glass of water every day its tell how importance of water in human body. We also need water for cooking, as all the cooked items recquire water, so they should be ready for eating.

As we take example of Pakistan, their are many places where the clean water is not available even for drinking and cooking, like many area of Sindh, Blochistan and also some areas of Punjan and KPK.They have to barrow clean water from governments or other privates sectors. As many backward area people in Pakistan does not efford it, they drink water from open lakes and ponds which causes various health problems. So i thinks that clean water access is basic right of each person and govermnents and privates sector should not charge of this, it should be free of cost it is responcebility of government.

In conclusion, i would mension that even plants can not live without water, than how human can live. So governments should provides free of cost service for clean water for each citizen as its is its primary right.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly agree that clean water should be free, and the conclusion returns to this view. You give relevant reasons, including water’s role in daily needs and the example of communities in Pakistan that lack safe supplies and may face health problems. However, the support is uneven: the list of basic rights and the claim about drinking eight glasses are not fully connected to why household water should be free. The Pakistan example is more persuasive, but it would benefit from a clearer explanation of how charging affects access and why government provision is the best response. Develop each main reason with more precise explanation and evidence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas generally move from the importance of water to an example and then a final position. Linking expressions such as “Hence,” “As,” and “In conclusion” help signal these stages. At times, however, connections are mechanical or unclear. The second paragraph begins “As human basic rights are water…” without clearly linking this list to the argument, while “As we take example of Pakistan” introduces the example awkwardly. Some references, such as “they” and “this,” are not immediately precise. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to the claim that water should be free.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “basic human right,” “clean water,” “health problems,” and “government,” so the main ideas are understandable. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “backward area” and “private sectors,” but several choices are inaccurate or unnatural and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “barrow clean water,” “does not efford it,” and “free of cost”; spelling errors such as “responcebility” and “govermnents” also reduce control. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. A more precise range—such as “safe drinking water,” “afford to pay,” and “public provision”—would help express the argument more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect explanation of how unsafe water can lead to health problems. However, errors in articles, agreement, verb forms and sentence construction occur across the response and sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “The availability of water is basic human right” needs an article, and “a adult person should drink 8 glass” has errors in article and number agreement. In “governments should provides,” the verb form is incorrect; the final sentence also contains several agreement and clause-structure problems. Practise building accurate sentences first, then combine them with conjunctions such as “because” and “therefore.” Check articles, singular/plural forms and subject–verb agreement during revision.
