Student answer (Band 6.0)
Due to industrialization, urbaniztion and deforestration the access of clean water became very difficult, and also very expensive in some areas. Whereas, the water is the basic need of every human being so according to my point o view the water should be available to the people easily and also free or at the cheap rate that each category of people able to access the water easily, but with the awaerness about the consumption of water.
Firstly the main reason is that, a large number of people on earth unable to get clean and fresh water for there daily household usage and even to drink. They use contaminated or dirty water which results a new diseases. For instant, there is a lot of cases in thirdworld countries of different disease like kidney stone, dairrioa or other fatal diseases due to the use of unclean water.Through making the access of clean water should be free to people or can afford that and able to use that to fullfill there basic need.
Moreover through adding the price labels on the water make disparity between the poor and rich people. The people with the money can use the water while the poor unable to fullfill his/her basic need. This practice are unfair. Further if goverment invest a lot of amount to clean the water still the rate of the water should be fair enough that each person can easily afford.
On conclusion, I thought the water should be free for everyone as it is the basic need to live even in this changing enviorment where clean water is not easilly accessible there should be some laws of WHO to ensure every person on the earth have access to the clean water even limited but free.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you argue that clean water should be free, and you address access, health and fairness. The points about contaminated water causing illness and charges disadvantaging poorer households are relevant, with examples such as disease in less wealthy countries. This meets the task well, but development is uneven: the health argument is asserted rather than explained in detail, and the final reference to WHO laws is not connected to a specific proposal or example. You also introduce the idea of water being available “at the cheap rate,” which slightly blurs whether you support free provision or affordable pricing. Clarifying this distinction and extending each main reason with a concrete explanation would make the response more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion that restates your view. “Firstly” and “Moreover” help signal the progression from health concerns to inequality. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and some links between ideas are unclear. For example, “Through making the access of clean water should be free to people or can afford that” does not clearly connect the disease example to your recommendation. The conclusion also introduces WHO laws without preparing for this point in the body. Use clearer topic sentences and refer explicitly to the relationship between evidence and your argument; vary linking expressions and ensure each paragraph develops one connected line of reasoning.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “contaminated,” “household usage,” “disparity,” and “basic need,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “invest” and “ensure.” However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations are noticeable, including “urbaniztion,” “deforestration,” “thirdworld countries,” and “price labels on the water.” Some word choices make meaning less clear, as in “use that to fullfill there basic need.” Aim to learn accurate spelling and natural collocations as complete phrases, such as “access to clean water” and “water charges.” This would improve precision and make your argument easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure in “They use contaminated or dirty water which results a new diseases.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence formation, agreement, articles and punctuation sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “a large number of people on earth unable to get” is missing a finite verb, while “This practice are unfair” has a subject–verb agreement error. The opening sentence also joins several ideas without clear punctuation. Practise building accurate subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses using patterns such as “because” and “which.” Check articles, plural forms and sentence boundaries carefully when editing.
