Student answer (Band 5.5)

Water is a basic need for any human being and have to access a clean water is a bsic right to everyone who want to live their life with health and physical attraction. because body needed water to maintain the minerals and nutrients. I partially agree to this that every human has right to access the clean water but not for free because the excessive use of water freely should be the cause of deficiency in water supply.

On the one hand providing water free of charge can improve in the health and physical activities because in every household water is necessary for cooking, cleaning and drinking if families cannot have to source to main a water supply in home it effect their health and outcome will become in some serious diseases. This problem is for low income families for example in Pakistan most of the families can handled this problem then government must have plan to give free water supply to needed families then they are able to maintain their health in a best way.

On the other hand if government give every wher free water supply it will be costed to a finance of a government then the important step is fix portion of water provided to public free then the excessive yse of water can be paid on a very low rates. then this income come in the government finace and use for the repairing of pipelines and interducing a new water supply in different areas. For instance, In my area CHANGA PANI supply unit is working in different areas they give clean water freely and when somebody need extra water then they pay a little amount for it. tha work for us from many year and everyone support then in different ways.

In conclusion government ensure that every one access the clean water for drinking and basic needs of life freely while when someone use excessive then they must pay a little amount for it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address the central issue and maintain a clear, qualified position: clean water should be free for essential needs, while extra use can be charged. Both sides are relevantly considered. The health argument is supported with household uses and a reference to low-income families in Pakistan, while the second body paragraph explains the cost to government and proposes charging for excess consumption. The local water-supply example also helps make the proposal concrete. However, some points are less fully developed: explain more precisely how free access to basic amounts would be protected and how charges could discourage waste without excluding poorer households. This would make the reasoning and support more complete and persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction states your position, two body paragraphs present contrasting considerations, and the conclusion restates your proposal. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the main stages easy to follow. Within paragraphs, however, connections are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For example, the shift from the government’s costs to “then the excessive use” is abrupt, and the final example’s “they” and “that work” do not clearly identify their references. Some sentences also run several ideas together, making the progression harder to track. Use clearer links between cause, proposal, and example, and ensure pronouns refer unmistakably to a person or thing.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main argument, including “water supply,” “low income families,” “excessive use,” and “repairing of pipelines.” The example of a local supply unit also gives the discussion some specificity. However, word choice, collocation, and spelling errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. Phrases such as “physical attraction,” “maintain the minerals and nutrients,” “costed to a finance,” and “in different ways” do not express the intended ideas naturally or precisely. There are also misspellings, including “bsic,” “yse,” and “finace.” Build a more accurate range of common academic collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your meaning clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including conditional reasoning such as “if families cannot… it effect their health” and a contrast between basic and extra water use. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation reduce accuracy. For instance, “Water is a basic need… and have to access” has faulty coordination, while “if government give” and “it effect” show problems with agreement and verb form. Several sentences are joined with commas or full stops inappropriately, and capitalisation after sentence breaks is inconsistent. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement and punctuation, especially in longer conditional sentences.
