Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays usage of purified water is a basic human right. As a result in each household have a water supply that is provided free of cost. I diagree with this viewpoint becuase resouces waste and economic strain, which holds the importances in the society.

One of the major reason for my dissaproval on this viewpoint is that resouces waste. This due to the fact that if government provides free of cost water to the public it can damage many things which includes the roads, water pipes and waste of money, moreover people can waste the water because it is free. For instance, goverment should encourage people to save water because it is baisc need of life. Thus, charging household water usage can encourage people to stop waste the necessary things.

Another worth considering reason for my disagreement is that economic strain. To elaborate, if government spend too much funds on free water supply it can loss in education and health schems, by that public can loss interest in government schems. For instance, government should provide awarness regared to not waste their basic needs which is water. This is result, by that government can loss money on unimportant things.

To conclude, at present day access to clean water is fundamental need of human, supply water for free can causes resouces wasre and economic strain.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear: you disagree with free household water, and you give two relevant reasons—waste and pressure on public finances. However, both points are only briefly explained, and some supporting details are unclear or do not directly establish the claimed effects. For example, the link between free water and damage to roads or pipes is not explained, while the point about reduced funding for education and health needs a clearer account of how this would happen. The conclusion repeats your position but does not add a developed summary. The response is 214 words, below the 250-word minimum; the nine words copied from the prompt are not counted. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation and a specific, relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. This makes your main line of argument easy to identify. You also use signposting such as “One of the major reason,” “Another worth considering reason,” and “To conclude.” However, progression within the paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several claims are joined without clear relationships. For instance, the first body paragraph moves from infrastructure damage to wasted money and then to public behaviour, without explaining how these points connect. Phrases such as “This is result” and “by that” do not clearly show the intended links. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it in a logical sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “basic human right,” “economic strain,” “water supply,” and “government,” so the reader can understand the general subject and your reasons. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts of the argument difficult to interpret. Examples include “resouces waste,” “loss in education,” “public can loss interest,” and “baisc need.” Some phrases are also repeated, particularly “free of cost” and “government.” Aim for more accurate topic-specific expressions and check spelling carefully. For example, you could describe “pressure on public finances” and explain that charging for consumption may “discourage excessive use,” rather than relying on repeated or unclear wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause beginning “because” and a conditional structure with “if.” However, many sentences contain errors in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement, or articles, and these sometimes make the intended meaning hard to follow. For example, “in each household have a water supply” lacks a clear subject and verb, while “if government spend too much funds” has problems with the subject–verb form and noun phrase. “Supply water for free can causes” also shows difficulty controlling the subject and verb pattern. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and correctly matched verb, then check articles and singular/plural forms. Shorter, accurate sentences will help make your reasoning clearer.
