Student answer (Band 5.5)
The clean water is a fundamental need of every human. Hence, it is necessary that everyone should have access to clean water to stay healthy. I firmly believe that supply of clean water to everyone must be charged a certain amount so, people donot under estimate its worth and value it.
To begin with, the main reason to supply clean water is to keep people healthy because unhygenic water causes many diseases like gastic problems. Therefore, it should provide everyone with certain amount of charge as a result people evaluate it and prevent to waste it. Water is a natural thing which is present in a certain quantity in our earth if we donot use it wisely we face serious issues in the future.
On the other hand, if clean water supply free of cost it will be invalued and people use it freely without any hesitation and its wasteage will increase. In addition, water is used for many different purpose not only drinking, like washing, cleaning, and so on. Therefore, there are high probability to watse it in other purposes.
To conclude, I strongly believe that people should charge a reasonable amount for supply of clean water at their homes. Although it seems an extra burden however, as a result it prevents the wasteage of water and value it as a basic need.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you disagree with free household water and argue that charging a reasonable amount may discourage waste. You also explain why clean water matters for health and note that it is used for purposes beyond drinking. However, the response only partly develops the task: it does not directly weigh the human-rights argument or explain how charging could remain fair to households unable to pay. The claim that water would be “invalued” if free is asserted rather than supported with a specific example. The response is also 26 words below the required minimum, limiting the space available to develop your reasoning. Add a developed example and address the strongest counterargument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The main position is repeated consistently, and linking expressions such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand” and “To conclude” help signal stages in the argument. However, progression within the body paragraphs is sometimes unclear. For example, the first body paragraph moves from health to charging and then to water scarcity without fully explaining the links between these points. “On the other hand” introduces a further reason supporting your position rather than a contrasting view, so the relationship is misleading. Use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s purpose, and connect each supporting point explicitly to your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the central argument, including “fundamental need,” “clean water,” “diseases,” “reasonable amount” and “waste.” However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which makes parts of the argument less clear. For instance, “invalued” does not express the intended idea; “taken for granted” would fit better. “Wasteage” and “gastic” are misspellings, while “water is a natural thing” is vague and informal. There is also repetition of “water,” “people” and “waste.” Build a more precise range for discussing conservation, affordability and public services, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, using clauses with “because,” “if” and “although,” and your meaning is generally understandable. However, errors recur in sentence structure, articles, agreement and verb patterns. For example, “if clean water supply free of cost” needs a subject and passive verb (“if clean water is supplied free of charge”), while “there are high probability” has an agreement error. In “it should provide everyone,” the subject and verb pattern are unclear; use “it should be provided to everyone.” The opening “The clean water” also uses an unnecessary article. Some sentences join ideas awkwardly, particularly “as a result people evaluate it.” Practise accurate complex clauses and review articles, agreement and punctuation around linking phrases.
