Student answer (Band 5.5)
Availability of clean water is basic human right, and every home should have a water supply which is provided free of cost. I agree with this proposal due to the fact that, Water is a basic fundamental right everyone should have free of charge and access to clean water is complusary otherwis it will cause many health problems.
from my Prespective, I firmly hold the view that every home should have clean water and free of cost, Due to the fact that, Access to clean water is basic neccessity of life, without water we cannot survive.
Firstly, clean water is used for maintaining many household activities. For instance cooking, washing, cleaning, drinking. Particularly for maintaining hygiene. As in low income household they cannot buy water with money because of other expenses therefore, they are forced to used unsafe water which ultimately cause many health issues for instance many diseases. Moreover there are many cases that people died due to scarcity of water.
Secondly, free water can reduce financial pressure on many families specially in rural areas. Additionally access to clean water will improve wellbeing of the people. So government should mandate free water and advocate poor families by giving them free water.
In conclusion I would say that water is a basic human right it should be free as to improve people’s wellbeing. And it is a responsibility of government to provide free water specifically to low income families as they have other financial burden.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you agree that households should receive clean water without charge, and you give relevant reasons, including health risks and financial pressure on low-income families. However, the response addresses the issue only partially because the reasons are asserted rather than developed with specific explanation or a concrete example. For instance, you mention that unsafe water causes disease and that people have died from scarcity, but do not explain a particular consequence or provide an example. The conclusion also introduces a qualification—free water “specifically to low income families”—that is narrower than your opening claim that every home should receive it. The response is five words below the required minimum; add developed support rather than padding.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. The main points are generally relevant and can be followed. However, progression is limited: the introduction and second paragraph repeat the claim that water is a basic right, while the body points are listed more than explained. Some linking is mechanical or awkward, such as “Due to the fact that” and “Additionally,” and the relationship between the final recommendation for free water and the earlier claim about every home is not fully resolved. Improve cohesion by giving each paragraph one distinct reason, explaining it step by step, and using clear references and transitions rather than repeating the same assertion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the central ideas, including “clean water,” “financial pressure,” “low income household,” and “wellbeing.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, such as “complusary,” “neccessity,” and “Prespective.” Some phrases are also unnatural or repetitive: “free of cost” and “free of charge” express the same idea, while “advocate poor families by giving them free water” does not clearly convey the intended support. Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, and vary repeated terms where appropriate. More precise vocabulary would make your arguments clearer without requiring unnecessarily complex words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response relies mainly on simple sentence patterns, with attempts at longer structures using “because,” “therefore,” and “which.” These attempts are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the relationships between ideas. For example, “Availability of clean water is basic human right” is missing an article, and “they are forced to used unsafe water” has an incorrect verb form. The sentence beginning “As in low income household” is also incomplete and difficult to connect to the following clause. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including unnecessary capitals after commas and sentence fragments such as “For instance cooking, washing, cleaning, drinking.” Practise complete sentences, article use, and verb forms, then check punctuation and sentence boundaries.
