Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both sides of the question and state a partial position: “i partially agree.” The points about equal access, disease prevention, and pressure on government spending are relevant. However, the position is not fully explained: it is unclear whether you support free water for everyone or only for people who cannot afford it. The supporting ideas are also brief. For example, you mention contaminated water and health problems but do not give a specific example or explain how free household supply would prevent them. The response is 38 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your reasons. Clarify your position and extend each main point with explanation or an example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

Your response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, reasons supporting free water, a contrasting paragraph, and a conclusion is implied by the final point. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “secondly,” and “On the other hand” help signal the direction of your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear because ideas are presented as fragments or are not connected logically—for instance, “Equal acess of water to everyone” is followed by an incomplete explanation. Some linking phrases are also used mechanically, and punctuation around them is inconsistent. Develop each paragraph around one clear main idea, then connect the explanation and result in complete sentences. A brief concluding paragraph would also make the overall progression more complete.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “freshwater,” “contaminated water,” “bacteria,” “infrastructure,” and “government funding.” These choices show an attempt to discuss access, health, and public costs. However, the range is limited and several repeated or inaccurate expressions make parts of the response difficult to follow, such as “free of cost,” “poor quality of water,” and “extra pressure.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “acess,” “beigns,” and “experince.” Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, describe the financial effect as a “strain on public finances” and use “equal access to clean water” rather than the less natural phrasing in the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to use both simple statements and longer cause-and-effect structures, such as “as a result” and “in order to provide better facilities.” However, the range is limited, and many sentences contain errors that make the relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “there home have should have a water supply is provided” and “government can repairs old pipelines.” Sentence fragments such as “To explain, who belongs from poor social and economic background” also prevent the meaning from being expressed fully. Work on forming complete clauses, using correct verb forms after modal verbs (“can repair”), and controlling articles and subject–verb agreement. More accurate sentence patterns will help you express your relevant ideas clearly.
