Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, water supply is one serious issue that was faced mostly the people in cities. Access to clean water is the basic fundamental right of people. State is responsable for the supply of water to every home free of charges. I completely agree to the statment that it must be provided free of charges and without any complication.

There are following reasons due to which state is responsable for water supply. Firstly it is the basic human right of people to provide clean water to them. So every state is responsable for water supply to their citizen according to UN charter. In the agreement of UN charter, many country are under the pollicy to give human right to their citizen.

Secondly, it is also important to provided clean water to people to leave their life happy. If there is poor people that not able to afford to bye clean water for themself. For example if the income of one person is not too much, than they may be not able to pay for water, so that's why state is responsable for the suppling of clean water. Further more, it is also important to stay healty in country. There is multiple disease were created in area because of polluted water. For example the disease of dangue is spread because of mosquito.

In conclusion, clean water is the basic human right of every person, so state is responsable to provide water to people to give their right to them and to live happy and healthy life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you completely agree that water should be supplied free of charge, and the conclusion restates this view. You give relevant reasons, including affordability for people on low incomes and the health risks associated with polluted water. However, the response only partly develops the task: the claim about the UN charter is asserted rather than explained, and the example of dengue is not clearly connected to whether household water should be free. Develop each reason with a more precise explanation or example, and address the practical question of why the supply should be free rather than simply available. This would make your argument more fully supported and focused.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two reason-based sections and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main points. The overall arrangement is coherent, but connections between some ideas are not always clear. For instance, the discussion of polluted water moves to dengue, which is caused by mosquitoes, without explaining the link to the proposed water policy. The phrase “There are following reasons” also introduces the body awkwardly, and several sentences repeat the idea that the state is responsible. Use clearer links between claims and examples, and organise each body paragraph around one reason followed by its explanation and relevant evidence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main argument, including “basic human right,” “clean water,” “income,” and “polluted water.” However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate, which can make parts difficult to interpret. Examples include “free of charges,” “leave their life happy,” and “the suppling of clean water.” Spelling errors such as “responsable,” “statment,” and “healty” also reduce accuracy. Aim to learn common phrases as complete units and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for affordability, public provision and water-related illness would help you express the argument more clearly and avoid repeating “water” and “responsible.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including conditional structures such as “If there is poor people that not able to afford…” and a reason clause beginning “because of polluted water.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “there is poor people” should use a plural verb, while “that not able to afford” needs a finite verb such as “who are not able to afford.” In “it is also important to provided,” the verb form after “to” is incorrect. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them, paying particular attention to subject–verb agreement and verb patterns.
