Student answer (Band 5.5)
Availability of clean drinking water, is a basic right of every human being. In addition to this, each and every home must be provided with safe potable water without any cost, entirely free of any expenses. I strongly agree with this idea of giving pure drinking water supply to every home, either by providing underground water connection linked directly to each household or by supplying contamination free water indirectly through large tanks with high water storage capacity. So the people can fill up their bottles or containers according to their needs.
Generally, facility of clean water, especially for drinking is one of the significant human right and every home should receive an appropriate supply of clean water without spending a single penny. There are many key factors to this. Firstly, as a citizen of any country, there must be a law that, Authorities must provide clean water to locals without demanding money. This will lead to better Government and public relationship. Secondly, it is the right of every individual to have the access of the basic necessity of living as the native population is paying high taxes for these facilities. Therefore, in return they should enjoy the clean water facility without any expenditure.
For instance, every individual is already working hard to meet both ends. Moreover, in order to achieve good support from public the officials must go an extra mile by providing them with the facility of free water supply, without any charge.
In conclusion, water is a great blessing and no one can survive without it. As well as , it is the basic right of every one to have access to purified water for drinking. Therefore, I strongly believe that, water should be provided for free to locals without costing them any money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear from the opening and conclusion: you strongly support free household water. You give relevant reasons, including water as a basic necessity, citizens’ tax contributions, and the potential benefit to relations between the public and government. However, these points are asserted more than explained. For example, the claim that free water would lead to a “better Government and public relationship” needs a clearer explanation, and the example about people working hard to “meet both ends” does not show specifically why water should be free. The response addresses the question, but its supporting ideas are limited and under-developed. To strengthen it, explain the practical effects of free access and develop a specific example, while also clarifying whether the proposal covers all household use or drinking water only.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction stating your view, a body paragraph giving reasons, a separate example, and a conclusion that restates your position. This makes the overall direction understandable. However, progression between ideas is sometimes weak. The paragraph beginning “For instance” does not provide a concrete instance; it repeats the general point about officials gaining public support. Some linking phrases, such as “In addition to this,” “Moreover,” and “Therefore,” are used mechanically or connect ideas whose relationship is not fully explained. The first paragraph also includes several details about water-delivery methods that are not developed later. Group related reasons and explanations into clearer paragraphs, and use linking expressions only where they show a precise relationship.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “potable water,” “contamination free,” “basic necessity,” and “high taxes.” These choices show an attempt to use more formal and topic-specific language, and the main meaning remains clear. Some expressions, however, are unnatural or imprecise: “meet both ends” is not the usual phrase, “water facility” is vague, and “without any cost,” “free of any expenses,” and “without any charge” repeat the same idea. “Pure” and “clean” are also used without distinguishing water quality from access. Aim for more natural collocations and avoid repeating the same wording; for example, specify “a reliable supply of safe drinking water” and use “make ends meet” when discussing financial pressure.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including a conditional-style explanation with “This will lead to…” and a longer sentence beginning “Therefore, in return…”. The overall meaning is generally understandable, but some errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation remain. For example, “Availability of clean drinking water, is” has an unnecessary comma, while “one of the significant human right” has a number-agreement problem. The opening paragraph also contains a sentence fragment beginning “So the people can fill up…”. In “As well as, it is…,” the connector is not integrated correctly into the sentence. Review article and plural forms, and make sure each sentence has a complete main clause. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied sentences clearer.
