Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is argued that access to hygine water is a basic human right. So, government should provide clean water to every home for free of cost. I completely disagree with this statement because people will not know the real value if its provided for no cost, so they waste more water.

The primary reason for this is that individuals waste more water. Firstly, when government does not charge any money for water supply, then people doesn't know how precious it is. They leave water taps without checking it properly by this water leaks and leads to wastage of water. In addition, people not only use fresh water for drinking, but also for household chores such as, cleaning and washing which requires lot of water supply and results in wasatge. For example, families use water for washing their clothes and clean their house floors which results in wasting lot of water. Due to this, government should charge minimum pay for supplying water to every home, which helps to save water for future generations.

The secondary reason is that organizations needs to spend lot of money by their to supply more water. The reason for this that to allocate water to every home in the city government should build more water tanks, purifications centers and hire specialized staff, which requires huge amount to make sure everything is organized. Therefore, it adds extra burden on authority where they need to deal with other sectors too. Hence, authority should charge money to build all the required things which plays role in fresh water supply, instead of spending public money on it.

In conclusion, clean water shouldn't provide for free of cost beacuse people tends to waste more water. Moreover, it adds extra budget requiremnet on government .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you disagree with free household water, and the conclusion restates this view. You give two relevant reasons—possible waste and the cost of building and maintaining supply infrastructure—and support them with examples such as leaking taps and water use for washing. This addresses the task and provides a developed overall response. However, the argument is not fully balanced: the claim that people waste water when it is free is asserted rather than supported with evidence, and the infrastructure paragraph focuses on government costs without explaining why charging households is the best or fairest solution. To strengthen the response, develop these points further and acknowledge that clean water is a basic right while explaining how a modest charge could preserve access.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “In addition,” and “The secondary reason” help readers follow the argument. The examples are generally placed near the points they support. However, some linking is mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “Therefore” and “Hence,” and the first body paragraph repeats the idea of water being wasted without adding much development. Some connections are also unclear: the move from household use to the claim that government should charge a minimum amount needs a more explicit explanation. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the relationship between each claim, example, and conclusion more precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main argument, including “water supply,” “household chores,” “purification centers,” and “public money.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors reduce precision. Examples include “hygine water,” “for free of cost,” “wasatge,” and “extra budget requiremnet.” Some phrases are also awkward, such as “organizations needs to spend lot of money by their” and “charge minimum pay.” These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your position, but they make the writing less natural. Build a more accurate set of phrases for discussing water provision, costs, and conservation, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “when,” and “which,” and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, control is inconsistent, especially in longer sentences. For example, “people doesn't know” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “organizations needs” also uses the wrong verb form. The sentence beginning “The reason for this that to allocate water…” is structurally incomplete, and “clean water shouldn't provide” is missing the passive construction needed to express your meaning. Articles, plurals, and sentence punctuation also need attention. Practise building accurate clauses before combining them, and check agreement and passive forms during revision; this will make your varied sentence attempts clearer.
