Student answer (Band 5.0)
Access of clean water is a basic human right, therefore government should gave a water supply to every home that is free of cost. I strongly agree with this because water is the need of every home on earth.
To begin with, Clean water is the necessery thing for people who lived on earth because clean water used for many purposes on every home like for cooking of food. Clean water is also used for drinking purpose. Water is clean with many bacterias. People can not lived much longer without the water because water is the necessary and basic need of every person lived on earth. Cleaning water also make a person healthy.
Moreover, Government need to spend on clean water that gave benefits in furture. Also government should gave a water supply to every home that is free of cost. But in present time some people make water their bussiness they know that today water is need of every human. So they start selling water at very high cost. Government take a serious action againts the people who sold water. Government need to spend on water in Pakistan because clean water decreased day by day in Pakistan. Government need to instal water filter plants on almost all the busy site of the city if they dont able to provide water supply to every home.
In Conclusion, clean water is the important part of every person, government need to provide clean water supply to every home, if they do not able to provide supply of clean water to every home they need to constructe water filters plant for the clean water.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you strongly agree that clean water should be provided to every home. You give relevant reasons, including water’s importance for drinking and cooking, the high cost of privately sold water, and the need for government action in Pakistan. However, the response addresses the issue only partially because several points are asserted rather than explained. For example, “Cleaning water also make a person healthy” is not developed, and the suggestion to install filter plants is not clearly connected to how this would ensure free access for every household. To strengthen the response, explain how public funding could provide a reliable supply and support your claims with a specific example. The required length is met; eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. “To begin with,” “Moreover,” and “In Conclusion” help signal the stages of your argument, and the discussion generally stays on the topic of clean water. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and ideas are repeated rather than developed. The claim that water is essential appears several times, while the shift from free household supply to selling water and then to filter plants needs clearer links. Some sentences also run together, making relationships between points harder to follow. Organise each body paragraph around one main reason, then explain and illustrate it before moving to the next point; use linking phrases to show cause and contrast more precisely.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a basic range of vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “water supply,” “drinking,” “government,” and “filter plants,” so the main subject is understandable. However, vocabulary is repetitive, particularly “clean water,” “every home,” and “government,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate. Examples include “water is clean with many bacterias,” “make water their bussiness,” and “busy site of the city.” Spelling errors such as “necessery,” “furture,” and “againts” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of topic-specific expressions and check how words combine naturally. For instance, distinguish between treating water and water being contaminated, and use precise terms for public infrastructure and access. This would make your argument clearer and less repetitive.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a conditional idea in “if they dont able to provide water supply.” However, control is limited, and errors occur frequently across the response, sometimes making the intended meaning difficult to follow. Verb forms are a recurring problem: “government should gave” should use the base form after “should,” and “people who lived on earth” does not fit the general present-tense meaning. There are also errors in articles, agreement, and sentence construction, as in “Water is clean with many bacterias” and “Government need to spend.” Punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent, including the capital letter after “To begin with.” Practise accurate basic clauses first, then build longer sentences with correctly formed conditionals and supporting clauses.
