Student answer (Band 5.0)
All humans has a basic rights to utilize clean water as it is very crucial for every human. Therefore every home should have their own water supply that is provided free of charge to every human being. I partially agree with the basic rights of water however the matter of fact is that if everyone should get free water supply, then most of the people waste it as it was free.
Some people beleive that water should be given free of cost as it is a human basic right. Morever, they thought that it should be the responsibility of government to provide clean water to every home. Clean water makes society clean and the health of society also enchance. Individuals thinking improves and society makes progress however if society do not get clean water then health issues rises gradually and society halt.
From my perspective, by providing clean water free of charge to every house makes alot of things better. However, it also develops pressure on government because providing clean water is an easy thing but free of charge is not easy morever if people get water free of cost and donot pay for the water then how they should know the importance of water.
In conclusion, I would argue that human has a right of getting water free however it is responsibility of individual to store it for future generation and utilize it for beneficial purposes. Government should have the responsibilty to restrict individual if they are wasting water.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You take a partly supportive position, saying clean water is a basic right while questioning whether it should be free because people may waste it. This addresses the central issue, and you mention relevant effects on health and government responsibility. However, the position is not consistently resolved: the conclusion says people have a right to water “free,” without clarifying whether you support free household supply or affordable access with limits. The points about waste, costs, and government restrictions are asserted rather than explained with specific examples. The response also falls 8 words short of the 250-word minimum; the 8 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop your reasoning and make your final position explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Ideas are generally grouped by topic, and linking expressions such as “however,” “moreover,” and “in conclusion” help show relationships. Nevertheless, progression is limited because several points are repeated—for example, that water is a basic right and that free provision may encourage waste—without being advanced or supported. Some connections are unclear, particularly the shift from clean water improving society to the claim that society would “halt” without it. The conclusion introduces storing water for future generations but does not clearly connect this to the earlier argument. Use each paragraph to develop one distinct reason, and make the links between claims explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “basic right,” “government,” “health issues,” and “future generation,” so the main ideas are understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. For instance, “society makes progress” and “society halt” are awkward, while “pressure on government” is not explained precisely. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “beleive,” “Morever,” “enchance,” and “responsibilty.” Aim for accurate topic-specific phrases and check spelling carefully. More precise wording for costs, access, conservation, and public services would help you express your argument with greater clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including conditional structures such as “if everyone should get free water supply, then most of the people waste it.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and verb forms can make the reader pause. Examples include “All humans has,” “every home should have their own,” “health issues rises,” and “if society do not get.” The sentence beginning “From my perspective, by providing…” also lacks a clear grammatical subject. Work on subject–verb agreement and consistent sentence patterns, and separate long ideas into shorter sentences when needed. These corrections would make your reasoning easier to follow.
