Student answer (Band 5.5)

Water is consumed by every human. So, the availability of clean water is a fundamental human liberity in which every household should get free supply of it. I am totally agree with this statement because its a natural resources which is available easily around human settlement and adding price to access the water can affect the poor community.

Firstly, water is a renewable natural resource, which is consumed by living organisms like us. Todays, modern world add charges to every resource which are consumable in large scale but before this era like in ancient time they don't have to pay for it. For instance, people usually can utilize water from river or underground water easily as there were no strict rules and regulations for basic needs. This signify that all natural things are provided by nature to living beings for their survival which must not cost anything. Furthermore, there was enough quantity of water which can be consumable by all creature because nature recycle the quantity by water cycle. So, our mother earth care us for free then government should do as well by making it fare free.

However, adding amount for utilization of clean water can affect the impoverished people badly. Clean drinking water was only affordable to people who can pay. For example, due to water pollution, drinking water needs further purification which undergoes technological treatement process by industries leading to add extra charges for it to consumer. This is why, people from disadvantage group get less access to clean water and may suffer from various illness after drinking contaminated water.

In conclusion, government should create iniciatives to make the cost free supply of water to every home because it is abundant in nature and adding fare make poor people suffer most.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that households should receive clean water without charge, and you give two relevant reasons—water is a natural resource and fees can disadvantage poorer people. The example about purification costs also helps explain the second reason. However, the first argument relies heavily on the idea that water is naturally available, without fully addressing the distinction between water in nature and the treatment and delivery needed to provide safe water to every home. The historical comparison is also asserted rather than developed. To strengthen the response, explain how governments could fund treatment and infrastructure while keeping household access free, and extend each example to show how it supports your position. This would make the ideas more fully developed and balanced across the task.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and a conclusion restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Furthermore,” and “However” help signal the direction of the argument. Some connections, though, are mechanical or unclear. For example, “This signify that” does not clearly identify which preceding point it refers to, and the move from ancient access to the claim that governments should provide water free is abrupt. The second paragraph also shifts from affordability to pollution and illness without fully linking each step. Use clearer referencing and explain the relationship between claims—for instance, how public funding could prevent fees from restricting access—to create smoother progression between sentences and ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “renewable natural resource,” “water pollution,” “purification,” and “disadvantage group,” so the reader can follow the main argument. However, word choice, collocation, and spelling errors are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less precise. Examples include “human liberity,” “fare free,” “adding amount,” and “technological treatement process.” Some expressions are also repeated, particularly “water” and “free,” while “natural things” is too broad for the point being made. Aim to use accurate topic-specific phrases and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise language for water treatment, household charges, and access would make the argument clearer and more natural without changing its central ideas.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “which,” and “leading to,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain across the response. For example, “I am totally agree” has an incorrect verb form, “Todays, modern world add charges” has problems with tense and subject–verb agreement, and “people … who can pay” shifts tense within the discussion. There are also errors in articles, plurals, and sentence construction, as in “all creature” and “which must not cost anything.” Review agreement, verb forms, and countable nouns, then proofread each sentence for a complete and consistent structure. Greater control of these patterns would make your complex sentences easier to read.
