Student answer (Band 5.5)
Acess to clean water is a basic human right. Some people believe that everey home should receive a free water supply. I strongly agree with this statment because water is essential for life, and everyone should have access to it without tax.
First of all, water is necessary for human surivival. People need clean water for drinking, bathing, cooking and cleaning their homes. Without clean water , people suffer from serious diseases. Poor families often find it difficult to pay their water bills. if the government provide a basic amount of clean water free of charge. So, poors will be able to meet their daily needs. For instance, iow-income families can use their money to spend on healthy food and items.
Secondl, providing free water can improve public health and reduce poverty. When people can access to clean water, they can maintain their health and protect from several diseases. Moreover, children can live in healthier enviroment and attend the school classes. I believe that people should not waste water because it is sin. So, goverment should provide basic amount water free of charge and develop waterplants in every area. This approach help to reduce the poverty.
In conclusion, i completely agree that every home should receive basic amount of water for free of charge. Water is essential for life and nop one should be deprived of it because of poverty. Government should ensure that everyone has access to clean water while encouraging responsible usage.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction to the conclusion: you strongly agree that homes should receive a basic amount of water free of charge. You give relevant reasons, including survival, disease prevention and helping low-income families, and the example about families spending money on healthy food supports your argument. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained—for example, the claim that free water reduces poverty and helps children attend school needs a clearer link or supporting detail. The response also falls 15 words short of the 250-word minimum; the eight words copied from the task prompt are excluded from the count. Develop one or two examples further and meet the required length to address the ideas more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present reasons, and a conclusion restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “Second,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. Some connections between ideas are less smooth, however. In the first body paragraph, the sentence beginning “if the government provide…” is not properly connected to the preceding point, and “So” then introduces a result abruptly. The second paragraph moves from public health to children’s education, then to water waste and infrastructure without fully explaining the links. Use complete transitions and develop each paragraph around one main reason, with clearer links between claims and examples.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “human survival,” “public health,” “water bills,” and “deprived,” and the meaning is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several spelling, word-form and collocation errors reduce precision: “Acess,” “surivival,” “enviroment,” and “waterplants” are misspelled, while “access to clean water” is incorrectly written as “access to” in a grammatical pattern that should be “access clean water” or “have access to clean water.” Phrases such as “it is sin” and “items” are also imprecise in context. Build a wider set of accurate topic collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your ideas clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use a mixture of simple sentences and some attempts at complex structures, such as “When people can access to clean water, they can maintain their health…” and “while encouraging responsible usage.” The overall meaning remains understandable, but some sentence structures and grammatical forms are inaccurate. For example, “if the government provide…” is an incomplete sentence and needs a main clause; “government provide” also requires subject–verb agreement. Other examples include “a basic amount water” and “This approach help,” which need an article or preposition and correct agreement. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including lowercase sentence openings and missing spaces after full stops. Practise complete conditional sentences, agreement, and article use, then proofread each sentence.
