Student answer (Band 5.5)

Acess to clean water is basic human necessity and everyone has a right to it. People strongly believe that every household should have a free water supply at all times. I agree to a large extent as water is a basin need and ought to be available to everyone without any financial burden.

Humans health largely depend upon what we intake. For instance, healthy food and clean water does avoid chances of health problems as compare to processed food or unfiltered water.Humans with installed water filters in their home has very less chances of being admitted or have any health problems. The quality of life will eventually improve as a use of clean water will benefits in many aspects. For example, cooking with clean water will avoid any health concerns, washing with clean water will remove dirt and avoid diseases, cleaning with fresh water will improve environment and most importantly using clean water in bathing or toilets will eliminates number of risks.

Putting charges to clean water will decline quality of life. Not everyone can afford paying for clean water which is needed all the time and will eventually use unclean water. It will cause number of diseases and which will spread out if not controlled. There are many disease caused by unclean water. For example, typhoid, dengue, hepatitis. some of them viral which can spread into whole family or even neighbourhood. For the communities which cannot afford the clean water, how can we consider them to pay for their hospitals bills.

Government should make policies that benefits all the citizens equally. Basic human needs should be available to everyone as healthier nation makes country progress. By doing so, They can offer a best lifestyle to people and less health break outs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree to a large extent that households should receive clean water without financial burden. You support this with relevant points about health, hygiene and the consequences for people unable to pay, and the examples of cooking, washing and water-related illness help address the topic. The response therefore covers the main question and gives a basis for your view. However, some claims are broad or not fully explained—for example, the link between clean water and “cleaning with fresh water” improving the environment, and the list of diseases, including dengue, would benefit from more precise explanation. To develop the argument further, clarify whether free provision means unlimited use or a basic household supply, and explain how this could be funded or managed. The position and relevant support are established, but development is uneven.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two paragraphs explaining health and affordability, and a concluding recommendation to government. Ideas generally progress from the benefits of clean water to the risks of charging for it. Examples such as “For instance” and “For example” help signal support. However, connections between some sentences are awkward or mechanical, as in “It will cause number of diseases and which will spread out if not controlled,” and the disease list is not smoothly integrated into the argument. The conclusion also introduces policy and national progress without clearly drawing together the earlier points. Use clearer referencing and vary linking methods; make each paragraph’s central claim explicit and ensure examples directly follow and explain it.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “water supply,” “financial burden,” “quality of life,” “unfiltered water” and “policies,” so the reader can follow the main argument. There are also attempts to express consequences and public-health concerns. However, the range is limited by repeated use of general words such as “clean water,” “health” and “people,” while several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear: “basin need,” “less health break outs,” and “pay for their hospitals bills.” Spelling errors such as “Acess” and “neighbourhood” (inconsistent with the spelling used elsewhere) also reduce control. Build a more precise range for discussing access, sanitation and public health, and check collocations and spelling so that your intended meaning is consistently clear.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “Not everyone can afford paying for clean water … and will eventually use unclean water” and a relative clause in “which is needed all the time.” This gives the response some structural variety. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries are frequent enough to make several sentences difficult to read. For example, “Humans health largely depend” needs a possessive form and subject–verb agreement, while “The quality of life … will benefits” has an incorrect verb form. The sentence beginning “There are many disease” also needs plural agreement and clearer punctuation. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb, and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
