Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argued that accessing to pure mineral water is a basic need of human being but on the other side everyone want that each home should have a water supply that is provide to everyone free of cost.In my opinion, clean water is a basic human need that everyone want but i firmly believe that there is a little charge on water because the main reason is that peole will waste the water that make many difficulties in future we will face the water shortage so, when we apply cost on water they will utilise in when it necessary.

To begin with, clean water make us healthy because eveyone knows that water is playing crucial role in human body. For making our life healthy it is necessary that we should use pure water and intake much water that is need for healthy lifestyle. For instance, Human body react positively and make us active when we intake water. In addition, doctors always suggest to the individuals that more water make our well being more healthy. So, water is very vital in our life and use it when it necessary and free water make our life easier owing to, it never burden on our financial conditions.

On the other hand, giving water free of cost make us irresponsible because we are carelesss about those things that gives us free of charge. To make us responsible about the basic things there is a little charge on the clan water that everyone can afford it also they know that value of the mineral water. For example, Little charge will play essntial role because then they learn about the importance of clean water. Free water make them careless, with such behaviour the authorities will face the difficulties in future so, it is vital that we charge on clean water.

Taking everything into account, it is our basic right we should demand clean water but also use it when it necessary otherwise we will face the problems in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you support access to clean water but argue that households should pay a small charge to discourage waste. This directly addresses the question, and you give relevant reasons about health, affordability and conserving supplies. The health paragraph includes a general example about doctors’ advice, while the conservation argument explains why charging might encourage responsible use. However, some ideas are less fully developed than others: the claim that a small fee will prevent future shortages needs a clearer explanation or a specific example, and the conclusion mainly repeats the position. To strengthen the response, explain how charges could be set so that water remains accessible to low-income households while discouraging excessive use. The response meets the required length; eight words copied from the task prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present reasons, and a conclusion returns to the main position. The contrast between the health benefits of clean water and the case for charging gives the essay a basic progression. You also use signposts such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “Taking everything into account.” However, links are sometimes mechanical, and several sentences join multiple ideas without clear punctuation, as in the opening paragraph and “Free water make them careless, with such behaviour the authorities will face the difficulties in future.” Some references, including “they” and “it,” are not always precise. Use shorter, clearly separated sentences and connect each example directly to the point it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “basic human right,” “water shortage,” “financial conditions,” and “importance of clean water.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both health and conservation. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “water,” “important,” and “difficulties,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate enough to make parts less natural. For example, “accessing to pure mineral water” and “a little charge on water” do not express your meaning idiomatically; “clean water” and “a small charge for water” would be clearer. Spelling errors such as “peole,” “carelesss,” and “essntial” also affect accuracy. Build a bank of topic-specific phrases and check spelling and collocations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “when,” and “that.” This allows you to express reasons and consequences, and your overall meaning is generally understandable. However, some errors in sentence structure, agreement, verb forms, articles and punctuation remain. For example, “everyone want” should be “everyone wants,” and “a water supply that is provide” needs “is provided.” The sentence beginning “To make us responsible…” also has an unclear construction, while several long sentences run together without appropriate punctuation. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and divide sentences when they contain several separate claims. More accurate control of these patterns would make your argument easier to follow.
