Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often arugue that clean water is a basic human need and right thats why every home should have a water supply for free . In this essay we will discuss both point of view .
Overall, clean water is very important for human life and a major need to survive.According to my opinion that every house should free water supply so they be safe from diseases and live healthy life.there are so many advantages for having free water supply in every home people can drink clean water and cook their food in that also they can use that water for housing cleaning and it will helpful in so many ways. i agree with it.
Free clean water supply can be helpful in term of saving money , for health purpose , no shedding of water so people had to be worryless about the water they use this water for farming, for example japan providing free clean water supply to their civilians so they can be stay health and hydrate and stay health beacause of it japanies life longer than other countires civilian and they work more than others.Meanwhile in pakistan clean water supply is very costly people have to pay a major proportion of their monthly income for getting clean water.
On the other hand , free clean water supply make people careless and they start wasting water which is not good in manners so for that reason some of people believe that water should be cost and not be free. for example in Indian civilian are at top in number of people who waste clean water because of that few of indian civilians are thriving for water especially in desert area like Rajistan , Jaipur.
In comparison , free clean water supply in every home can be benifical and there are numerous of advantages of that but on the side people will not be carefull about saving clean water which is the only disavantage of having free water supply.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall view in favour of free household water, and you include relevant reasons such as health, household use and reducing financial pressure. The comparison with Pakistan also helps illustrate the cost issue. However, the response only partly develops the task: the opposing point about waste is mentioned, but its implications and possible solutions are not explored, and several claims—for example, that free water explains Japanese people’s longevity—are asserted without support. The opening says the essay will discuss “both point of view,” although the response ultimately argues for one side; make your position explicit from the start and sustain it. Develop fewer points with clearer explanation and more credible examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, supporting paragraphs, a counterargument and a conclusion. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, progression between ideas is not consistently clear: the first body paragraph combines health, cooking, cleaning and farming, while the next shifts between saving money, health and water use. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand” and “In comparison” are present, but some connections are mechanical or do not clearly show how the ideas relate. The conclusion largely repeats the earlier points rather than drawing them together. Give each paragraph one main purpose, order its supporting details logically, and use clearer references to connect claims and examples.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “basic human right,” “clean water supply,” “diseases,” “monthly income” and “wasting water.” This is enough to communicate the general subject, but the range is limited and several expressions are repeated, particularly “free clean water supply.” Word choice and collocation errors sometimes make the meaning less natural, as in “no shedding of water,” “for health purpose” and “water should be cost.” Spelling errors such as “arugue,” “beacause,” “benifical” and “carefull” are also noticeable. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for access, affordability, conservation and public provision, and check spelling and collocations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “On the other hand” and a reason introduced by “because.” However, complex sentences are often difficult to follow because clauses are joined without reliable punctuation or grammatical control. Examples include “every house should free water supply so they be safe” and “people have to pay a major proportion of their monthly income for getting clean water.” There are also recurring problems with articles, agreement, verb forms and sentence boundaries, as in “free clean water supply make people careless.” These errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the intended meaning. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then build longer sentences with clear subjects, verbs and punctuation.
