Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is a common debate on the access to clean water. Most of the residents think that access to clean water is basic human right and therefore, every home should have a water supply free of cost. As far as i am concerned, this is totally fair and right. No doubt access to clean water is essential and substantail for every human and living thing.
Contaminated water is now common to everywhere and cause serious health problems. Unfiltered water contain so many bacteria, germs and they cause water borne disease like diarrhoea, cholera, dysentery e.t.c. In this way they harm to every life. For instance, Polio was a big problem that the individuals of Pakistan had to face in past years. Water is basic necessity and use in almost everything. Therefore, if it is not clean and safe then how our youth and children can grow.
As the saying goes, 'Where there is water, there is life'. It proves that how much water is important for life. Every human deserve good quality of life. Moreover, the government have to provide water free of cost. It is there responsibility to provide there residents quality of life and basic needs. Citizens have already pay so much taxes. For instance, The government of Canada provides there public clean and pure water and it is totally free of cost. As a Muslim we must clean our surroundings as the saying goes, 'Cleanliness is half of faith'.
In conclusion, clean water is crucial for good health and in this way we not just only defeat the deadly disease but to provide safe environment to our young generation which is our future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that households should receive clean water free of charge, and the conclusion returns to the importance of health and protecting young people. You give relevant reasons, including waterborne illness and the government’s responsibility, and the Pakistan and Canada examples help make the discussion concrete. This fully addresses the task, with some elements developed more effectively than others. The health argument is explained, but the Canada example is asserted rather than showing how free provision is funded or why it supports your position. The reference to cleanliness and faith is also not clearly connected to whether water should be free. Develop these points with more explanation and evidence to strengthen the argument further.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: it introduces your view, gives reasons in separate body paragraphs, and ends with a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “For instance,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “In this way they harm to every life” does not clearly identify what “they” refers to, and the move from the Canada example to the religious quotation feels abrupt. The final paragraph also repeats the health and future-generation points without fully drawing together the earlier reasoning. Use clearer referencing and make each paragraph’s ideas build on one another, rather than relying mainly on signposting phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “contaminated water,” “bacteria,” “water borne disease,” and “basic necessity,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at less common or emphatic language, such as “crucial” and “deadly disease.” However, the range and control are uneven, with noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation problems: “substantail,” “water borne,” “harm to every life,” and “defeat the deadly disease” are inaccurate or unnatural. Repetition of “free of cost,” “clean,” and “water” also limits flexibility. Aim for precise, natural combinations such as “cause serious harm,” “waterborne illnesses,” and “provide a free water supply,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional and cause-and-effect structures such as “if it is not clean and safe then how our youth and children can grow.” This shows some range, and your main meaning is generally understandable. However, errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction recur. Examples include “Unfiltered water contain,” “the government have to provide,” “Every human deserve,” and “Citizens have already pay.” The rhetorical question is also not formed accurately; a clearer version would be “How can our young people and children grow if the water is not clean and safe?” Improve control of subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and use punctuation consistently, especially after introductory sentences and around quotations.
