Student answer (Band 5.0)
Water is a neccessity in the human life. I totally agree with statement that clean water is a right to the survival of people and it must free of charge.
In developing countries so many lives have been lost due to lack of clean water to drink. This is due to water shortage caused by selling water. Responsible authorities make tenants to pay taxes and rates which an average family can not afford. As a result, water borne diseases increases and most people in Africa die.
Existance of humans revolves on water. A person can not survive without drinking clean water. Water must be accessible to everyone at no cost. Water has been used by people for many uses. It is used for cleaning, washing and even hygiene purposes. Water must be availabe everywhere so that families can use for free.
Some critics believe that water must be sold to people. They believe people misuse water, so by making them pay, it will be conservered. Water is precious and bceacuse of global warming and climate change, has made water to be sarce. The little which we have must be saved.
Furthermore, pollution by industries made governments to sell water. According to my opinion companies must p

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You take a clear position in the opening, stating that clean water is a right and should be free, and you give relevant reasons, including affordability, health, hygiene and concerns about water conservation. However, the task is only partially addressed: the arguments are brief and often asserted rather than explained or supported with a specific example. For instance, the claim that “most people in Africa die” is very broad and needs careful qualification or evidence. The counterargument about charging people is introduced, but the response ends mid-sentence (“companies must p”), so your reply to it and your conclusion are missing. The response also falls 44 words short of the required minimum. Develop each main point and complete the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has some organisation: it begins with your position, moves through reasons, and then introduces an opposing view. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these points, and connectors such as “As a result” and “Furthermore” show attempts to link ideas. However, there is no clear overall progression to a completed argument because the final paragraph stops abruptly and there is no conclusion. Some links between claims are also unclear—for example, the connection between selling water, water shortages and disease needs to be explained. Repeated statements that water should be free or available to everyone make the progression feel circular. Use each paragraph for one developed point, connect cause and effect explicitly, and finish by restating your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “water-borne diseases,” “water shortage,” “global warming,” “pollution” and “hygiene.” These terms help communicate the subject, but the overall range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make parts difficult to follow. Examples include “Existance of humans revolves on water,” “water must be conservered,” and “water to be sarce.” “Taxes and rates” also does not clearly express the cost of a household water supply in this context. Aim for more precise phrases such as “human survival depends on water,” “conserved,” and “scarce,” and check spelling carefully. Vary repeated words such as “water” and “must” where the meaning allows.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You communicate your main position using mostly short, direct sentences, and you attempt some longer structures, such as “They believe people misuse water, so by making them pay, it will be conservered.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some relationships unclear. For example, “it must free of charge” is missing a verb, “water borne diseases increases” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “A person can not survive without drinking clean water” shows inconsistent spacing in the negative form. The final sentence is incomplete, which also prevents the argument from being grammatically finished. Practise accurate clause construction, agreement and complete sentences before adding more complex structures.
