Student answer (Band 4.0)

Every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge. I disagree with this statement. in this eassy i will discuss some reason. The first reason to disagree with the statement is that if water provide free of cost to humans. People use the water carelessly. They waste the water. They donot understand the value of water. if we talk about now a days peole are very nonsereas about the value of water because some people are wash thier cars and bike daily. People clean their floors daily. Day by day water is less and withot water nobody can survive. Therefore take some taxes at water supply is important.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You state a clear position—“I disagree”—and give a relevant reason: people may waste water if it is free, with examples such as washing cars and cleaning floors. However, the response is far too brief to develop the argument, and the required minimum of 250 words is not met: it contains 99 words, with 13 words copied from the prompt excluded. The explanation that water is becoming scarce and that taxes are therefore important is relevant, but the link between charging households and conserving water needs fuller explanation. The task asks for reasons and relevant examples; add a developed second reason or counterargument, explain how charges could be fair to low-income households, and support your points with specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic line of progression: it introduces disagreement, gives a reason about waste, provides examples, and concludes that taxes are important. Connectors such as “The first reason” and “Therefore” help show how some ideas relate. However, the writing is presented as one paragraph, and the sequence becomes repetitive: “People use the water carelessly. They waste the water. They donot understand the value of water.” The opening also promises a discussion of “some reason” but does not establish a clear plan or develop further points. Use separate paragraphs for the introduction, each main reason, and the conclusion, and use referencing and linking phrases to show how each example supports the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the central idea, including “water supply,” “waste,” “value,” and “taxes.” The examples of washing cars and cleaning floors also make the point understandable. However, the range is narrow and several choices or spellings reduce precision, such as “free of cost,” “nonsereas,” and “take some taxes at water supply.” Repetition of “water” and “people” further limits flexibility. Aim for more accurate collocations and a wider set of terms, such as “charge households for water,” “conserve water,” and “water scarcity.” Check spelling carefully, and choose vocabulary that expresses the relationship between household charges and responsible use precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

Most sentences use simple structures, and the reader can generally follow the intended argument. There is an attempt at a conditional structure in “if water provide free of cost to humans,” but the verb form and sentence construction are incomplete. Other examples include “some people are wash” and “Therefore take some taxes,” where the verb patterns are not controlled. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent: “in this eassy” begins with a lowercase letter, and several short statements could be joined or punctuated more effectively. Practise forming complete clauses, for example, “If water is provided free of charge, some people may use it carelessly.” Add accurate complex sentences to explain causes and consequences.
