Student answer (Band 4.5)
Every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge . I disagree with this statement because water is very impotat for survive and human do not have value about the water. In this eassy i will discuss the reasons . The first reason disagree with the statement is that people do not have value of water beacuse some poeple are wash thier cars and bike daily example a person wash thier car daily they waste water because they do not understand the value of water .Without water nobody can survive. Drink able water is only have 2 percent in the earth . if we talk about future peple do not have water for survive thier life . Next generation can face many of the problems because in this time period people waste more water instead of save it . water level is very low in the earth but still people waste water they donot understad the value of water .In washing centers people are wash vechicles and they can waste water n high quantity . some poeple can brush thier theeth but they do not close the tape there fore water is flow and waste . Thereore take some taxes on water is very important beacuse people do not have value of free things. if government taje some charge on water so people can understand the value of water. They can use the water very carefully.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You state a clear disagreement and give relevant reasons, especially that people may waste water if it is free, with examples such as washing cars and leaving a tap running while brushing teeth. You also connect waste to future shortages. However, the response addresses the issue only partially: it does not consider the counterargument that clean water is a basic right, or explain how charges could protect access for poorer households. The ideas are repeated and mostly asserted rather than developed with explanation or evidence. The response is 227 words, so it is 23 words below the 250-word minimum; the 13 words copied from the prompt were not counted. To strengthen the response, develop each reason and explain how a fair charging system could preserve basic access.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has a recognisable sequence: it introduces disagreement, gives examples of waste, discusses future shortages, and concludes that charges could encourage careful use. Linking expressions such as “The first reason,” “Next generation,” and “Therefore” help signal some movement between points. However, the ideas are not arranged into clear paragraphs, and the progression is weakened by repeated claims that people do not value water and waste it. Several transitions are unclear or mechanically used, and the long middle section combines different examples without showing how they build the argument. Group the introduction, each main reason, and the conclusion into separate paragraphs, and use clearer links to show cause and effect rather than repeating the same point.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a small set of relevant terms, including “water supply,” “value of water,” “waste,” “taxes,” and “future,” so the main topic is generally understandable. However, vocabulary is limited and repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “water” and “waste.” Several spelling errors and inaccurate word choices make parts difficult to read, such as “impotat,” “eassy,” “Drink able,” and “vechicles.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “water level is very low in the earth” and “people are wash vehicles.” Build a more precise range for discussing access, conservation, and pricing, and check spelling and collocations. For example, distinguish “freshwater resources” from “drinking water” and describe people as “conserving” or “wasting” water.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt a few longer structures, including “because people do not have value of free things” and “if government take some charge on water so people can understand,” but these are often faulty. Errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur throughout, as in “people are wash,” “some people are wash,” and “if government take.” Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent: several ideas run together, while spaces before full stops are misplaced. These errors sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clauses using “because,” “if,” and “so that.” Check subject–verb agreement and verb forms, for example, “people wash” and “the government charges.”
