Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, there has been shortage of water in most ofthe places specially in rural area. While, water is an important source for all the living being to function. People can live without food. However, it is not possible to process without water. There are numerous people who believed that the access to clean water is a basic human needs and right and every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge. From my perceptive, i completely agree with having availablity of water for everyone. However, i disagree with providing it free of cost.
Water is an important source for all the living organism. Which is necessary to function our body. Water is required in every form of work. For example, in cooking, drinking and other things. Clean water is a basic human right and each and every households should have basic supply of water. We all know that water is an important elements for our body to function it properly. Whereas, we used water in cooking and without water it is impossible to make a living better. Furthermore, it is basic government duties to provide water to everyone especially for people living in village as they have various problem of water. For instance, they have to move from one place to another place to bring water.
On the other hand, i totally disagree with the statement of providing water for free of cost. However, i support giving free water to disadvantages people as they do not have much income. But it is not the same case for privileges people. For example, people will misused water and waste it.
In conclusion, water is important sources and every home should have a basic water supply. however, i disagree with having water for free as people will not value it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that homes should have access to a basic water supply, but disagree that it should be free for everyone. You address both sides and give relevant support, including the difficulty villagers face in collecting water and the risk that people may waste a free supply. However, these points are not developed equally. The argument about rural access includes a concrete example, while the claim that people will misuse water is asserted without explaining how charging would reduce waste or how a basic supply could be protected. Clarify the distinction between essential household water and additional use, and develop the reasoning behind your position. The 21 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for supporting and opposing points, and a conclusion that restates your view. This gives the reader an overall route through the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes repetitive: the second paragraph repeats that water is necessary for the body and for cooking without adding much new reasoning. Some links are also awkward or unclear, such as “Whereas” before a complete statement and “However” at the start of the final paragraph after a full stop. Use fewer, more precise linking expressions and make each paragraph develop one main point in a clear sequence. Clearer references between claims and examples would also improve flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “basic human right,” “water supply,” “income,” and “waste,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, form, and spelling errors make the writing less natural. Examples include “from my perceptive” for “from my perspective,” “disadvantages people” for “disadvantaged people,” and “privileges people” for “privileged people.” Phrases such as “important source” are repeated and imprecise; “essential resource” would be more suitable in this context. Aim to use a wider range of accurate collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish basic needs from unnecessary consumption.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in sentence boundaries, agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “Which is necessary to function our body” is a fragment, while “every home should have a basic water supply” is clearer as a complete clause. In “people will misused water,” the verb form is incorrect, and “water is an important elements” has a number-agreement error. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, especially with “i” and sentence openings after full stops. Practise building complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms; this will make your argument easier to read.
