Student answer (Band 5.5)

In the contemporary world, every individual has the freedom to obtain purified water at home and also utilise the basic human needs. I partially agree with both the views because water is paramount for everyone's life, and we cannot survive without it.

Firstly, privilege to the access to clean water at home is necessary for every person because they can get a healthy lifestyle and get rid of the diseases. Nowadays, many people have some health issues due to unfiltered water, which reflects their life span. For instance, those who take plenty of water on a daily basis are actually living a healthy lifestyle and prevent them from some diagnoses like diarrhoea and typhoid as well as cholera. Moreover, the human body has roughly 60% water, which helps to protect it from harmful bacteria and waterborne diseases.

Secondly, it prevents dehydration because water keeps our body fluid balanced and secure from symptoms like dry mouth, dizziness, and fatigue. Furthermore, it helps to aid digestion and keep healthy organs in the right way. For instance, water helps to absorb nutrients from food and allows kidneys to flush out toxins. In addition to this, everyone should have direct access to crystal water pipelines at home, so they should be more careful for their healthy lifestyle. It should be provided free of cost because water plays a vital role in the human body.

In conclusion, I would like to say that clean water is essential to everyone, and also they have the legal right to get the purified water, and I believe the supply of the filtered water at home is mandatory because some people live in polluted cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a relevant position by saying you “partially agree,” and you explain why clean water matters through health, hydration and digestion. These points address the importance of access, but the response does not fully answer the central question of whether the household supply should be free. The claim that it “should be provided free of cost” appears briefly, without considering who should pay, how free provision could work, or any limits to your agreement. Several examples explain the benefits of drinking water rather than supporting the policy itself; for instance, the discussion of kidneys and nutrient absorption does not establish why supply must be free. Develop your position consistently and support it with reasons directly related to cost and universal provision.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. The ideas within each paragraph are generally related, and linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” and “In addition to this” help show connections. However, progression is sometimes mechanical, with several points added in sequence rather than developed into a clear argument. The second body paragraph moves from dehydration to digestion and then to free pipelines without explaining the connection between these ideas. References such as “they” in “they should be more careful” are also unclear. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, explain how its examples support that claim, and use linking phrases more selectively.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “dehydration,” “waterborne diseases,” “nutrients,” and “toxins,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at more formal expressions such as “plays a vital role.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, sometimes making the intended meaning less clear. “Privilege to the access” is not a natural way to describe a right, while “crystal water pipelines” and “some diagnoses” do not fit the intended meanings. “Utilise the basic human needs” is also unclear. Aim for precise, conventional combinations such as “access to clean water,” “water supply,” and “prevent waterborne illnesses.” This would make your vocabulary more natural and effective.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because” and “which,” and most of the main ideas remain understandable. Some sentences are grammatically controlled, such as “Moreover, the human body has roughly 60% water.” However, there are some errors in sentence construction and agreement. In “every individual has the freedom to obtain purified water at home and also utilise,” the subject and verb forms are not parallel; “every individual … can obtain … and utilise” would be clearer. The phrase “they should be more careful for their healthy lifestyle” also has an unclear subject and faulty construction. Review articles, prepositions and parallel structures, and check that pronouns clearly refer to the intended noun.
