Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, water that is supply in home is very dirty and clean water is a basic human right this is a very important issue in our society. Some people think that this is a good idea while others do not support it. I completely agree with the statement and will give my opinions below.

The first reason why i support this idea was that clean water is a human right and if Government will provide a free water supply facilities in ever home then it will be very great for people,s to live their daily healthy life. For example, In Pakistan, many people have seen positive changes because of this in thier daily lives. This shows how helpful and beneficial this idea was for the people of society in thier daily lives. Therefore most people now accept and start supporting this idea in thier daily life everday.

Another important reason why i support this idea was that if people have provided clean water supply then the ratio of health issue will reduce for sure because half of the population in country have health issuse because of drinking dirty and un hygenic water. For instance, students and working people have also benefited in health through clean water. This proves how much positive effect this idea had on the lives of ordinary people in society. As a result, more and more people are now in the favour of this idea everyday.

In conclusion, i strongly believe that this a posivitive development for society. The main reasons for this was it helps the individual and also supports the community as a whole. I hope people will take advantage of this opportunity and use it in a positive way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you state, “I completely agree,” and return to that view in the conclusion. You also give two relevant reasons—clean water supports health and can reduce illness—so the response addresses the central issue. However, the support is limited and often asserted rather than explained. The Pakistan example says people saw “positive changes,” but does not describe a specific change or show how free household provision would work. The second reason repeats the health benefit without developing the practical question of whether every home should receive water free of charge. To strengthen the response, explain the benefits with specific examples and address how universal free provision could be funded or managed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “The first reason,” “Another important reason,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the basic organisation. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited, and several sentences repeat the same point—for example, the first body paragraph repeatedly says the idea is helpful or supported in daily life. Connect each reason to a distinct explanation or example instead of restating it. Some linking phrases, including “This proves” and “As a result,” introduce claims that have not been clearly demonstrated. Use references that make the relationship between evidence and conclusion explicit, and vary the transitions so the essay feels less formulaic.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “clean water,” “human right,” “health issue,” and “population,” and the main meaning is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “water that is supply in home,” “water supply facilities,” and “the ratio of health issue.” Spelling errors such as “thier,” “issuse,” “un hygenic,” and “posivitive” also reduce accuracy. Repeated wording—especially “daily lives,” “positive,” and “idea”—makes the argument sound less precise. Build a bank of natural collocations for this topic, such as “access to safe drinking water” and “incidence of waterborne disease,” and check spelling and word forms during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including conditional structures such as “if people have provided clean water supply then the ratio … will reduce.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in verb forms, articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries sometimes make the reader work to understand the meaning. For example, “if Government will provide” uses an unsuitable verb form after “if,” while “this a posivitive development” is missing a verb. The opening also joins several complete ideas without clear punctuation. Practise accurate conditional patterns (“if the government provides…, people will…”) and check each sentence for a subject, a correctly formed verb, and appropriate punctuation. Greater control of these basics would make your ideas clearer.
