Student answer (Band 5.5)
Every human being are equal in society and have equal rights on every thing but today, here I want to elaborate the very basic human right and which is most important for them to survive and that right is "Access to clean water". Some people believe that every single home should have a water supply that is provided free. I strongly agree to this statement because without water every individual feel like a drought land which did not even have access to clean water for decades. In other words, we can say that people will be died due to no clean water.
On the one hand, the main reason for access to clean water is that it is the basic human right and without water, citizens may cause several death's due to dehydration. And after this, there may be deadly diseases that will cost people to their lives. Countries which have several resources of clean water like rivers and lakes, those countries must provide free access to clean water to their citizens. In addition, people of that country will live happily and those citizens who are living near rivers can make their agriculture lands more fertile by adding enough required water for the growth of crops.
On the other hand, in case of countries which are land locked, providing free access to clean water to their citizens would be more challenging for them. The most important reason behind this is very clear that they have less resources of clean water; they do not have much clean water rivers and even though they do not have much stored water in dams or other reservoirs. So, in that case countries should provide limited water but almost free of cost to their people.
In my opinion, I agree with those people who says that water supply should be free of cost to every home. This is because water is the basic human survival need.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you strongly support free household water, and you give relevant reasons, including dehydration, disease, and the importance of water for agriculture. You also consider a counterpoint by noting that landlocked countries may have fewer resources, then suggest limited, nearly free provision. This addresses the task, but the discussion is uneven: the health argument is asserted rather than explained with a specific example, and the final opinion mainly repeats the opening without resolving how free provision could work where supply is scarce. Develop these points with a concrete example and clarify whether every home should receive a basic free amount or an unlimited supply.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, and a concluding opinion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In my opinion” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and links between ideas are not always clear. For example, the move from preventing deaths and disease to countries with rivers and lakes, then to agricultural fertility, brings together several points without showing how each supports free household supply. The conclusion also repeats the position rather than drawing the discussion together. Use clearer topic sentences and explain the relationship between each supporting point and your central argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “dehydration,” “reservoirs,” “agriculture,” and “fertile,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited by repeated wording such as “clean water,” “free,” and “people,” and several choices or collocations sound unnatural. For instance, “several death’s” is not an appropriate expression, while “people will be died” and “drought land” do not convey the intended meaning naturally. These noticeable inaccuracies sometimes make the reader pause, even though the main ideas remain understandable. Build a more precise set of phrases for water access and scarcity, and check whether verbs and nouns commonly occur together before using them.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, using structures such as “because,” “which,” and “even though” to connect ideas. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction can make some sentences difficult to process. Examples include “Every human being are equal,” “people will be died,” and “those people who says.” The sentence beginning “Countries which have several resources…” also has an unclear structure, making the relationship between the countries and the proposed action harder to follow. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and revise long sentences into clear clauses. More accurate control of these patterns would make your argument easier to read.
