Student answer (Band 5.0)

As clean water is a right of eveyone, thats why every person should have free water supply.I believe that it should be implement because every water plant have to be repairing cost and if pure water supply should be free goverment get loss from this project economecally it is not a safe option.

clean water is a fundamental right of every human being they should be provided it not free of cost it should have some charges because when goverment start any project they fanancially need any support from public so that then can maintain the things for example when they start work on clean water they have to maintain pure water plants and its infrastructure,In this way they need money for the purification of water plan mantainance and its infrstructure.

In addition when people pay for pure water they safe it andavoid to waste of water by runing taps and care washing.it is a human nature that when they have to pay for something they do not take it for granted.as well as when many areas have pure water plants they can easily access it in this way there should be some charges on clean water so that fillter changed timely and avoid unclean water.every water plants have high cost of big pipes filter and many other parts when goverment have to pay it they loss fanancially day by day at the end they have to leave it thats why there are some charges that should be implement. so that it would not become burdon on economy.

in conclusion everything that is good for heath in return demand something for example when we pay some charges for pure water we can get pure water for long time beacause water plant repair timely and work for a long time.we can safe us from dirty water and from different diseases.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You take a position against providing water entirely free of charge and give relevant reasons: maintaining treatment plants and infrastructure requires funding, and payment may discourage waste. These points address the question, but the response only partly develops the argument. For example, you mention government financial losses and the need for public support, yet do not explain how charges could be set fairly or how low-income households would retain access to this basic right. The opening is also confusing because it first says everyone should have free water, then argues that it should not be free. State your position consistently and develop each reason with a clear explanation or specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, supporting paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas about maintenance and avoiding waste are broadly grouped together. However, progression is not always clear: the opening gives conflicting views, and the second and third paragraphs repeat the need to fund plants, filters and infrastructure rather than advancing distinct points. Connectors such as “In addition,” “as well as” and “thats why” are used repeatedly or awkwardly, so relationships between claims can be difficult to follow. Use one paragraph for the costs of supplying clean water and another for conservation, then make the conclusion directly summarise your position. Clearer sentence boundaries and more precise referencing would also improve flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “fundamental right,” “infrastructure,” “purification” and “diseases,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning harder to understand. Examples include “safe it” for conserving water, “fillter changed timely,” and “burdon on economy.” Spelling errors such as “goverment,” “fanancially” and “infrstructure” are also noticeable. Build a more accurate set of phrases for discussing public services and costs, and check spelling and word forms carefully. Replacing repeated general expressions such as “some charges” with more precise terms would make the argument clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to combine ideas using clauses, for example, “when people pay for pure water they safe it,” and you use some simple and complex sentence forms. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries can make the reader work to understand the point. For instance, “every water plant have” needs subject–verb agreement, while “they should be provided it” has an incorrect sentence structure. Several long sentences run together without clear punctuation, particularly the sentence beginning “In addition when people pay.” Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking that each clause has a clear subject and verb.
