Student answer (Band 5.5)
Fresh and hygienic water is a fundamental human right to access . Therefore every house should provide water supply which is completely free for tenant. Well , water is a basic human need it is true but providing water free of cost it is does not make any sense i am significantly disagree.
For my perspective, Clean water is used by lots of people and lots of work . In every country and district Water is not actually clean we need to clean it by several machines and labours which is not free . So if every home provides free water it is definitely create financial problems for house owner and for government also . As a result , people use water Unconsciously .
Second opinion why i disagree is industrial reason . Many of giant company started their first business in their home . Machine needs water for cooling . Although, water is a fundamental human right people use it carelessly when it becomes free. Several dishonest business person who use home tap water for cooling their machineries. As a example , In Bangladesh a person who started a business in his house and he always use water Unconsciously as a result, house owner faced water penalties from government .
So, using water by human beings is a basic right, but if every home has a water supply that is provided free of charge as a result, water might be used carelessly. I think water bills have to pay by home renter otherwise it is difficult to control waste of water .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you disagree with free household water, and you give relevant reasons about treatment costs, waste, and business use. The example of a home-based business in Bangladesh also helps illustrate your concern. However, the argument does not fully distinguish between a basic household supply and water used for commercial purposes, and the claim that free water would create financial problems for both homeowners and government is not explained in detail. The final paragraph restates your view but offers little further support. Develop the strongest points with clearer explanation—for example, how charging for household use could discourage waste while protecting access for people unable to pay—and make the example more precise. This would make the response more fully developed across the task’s ideas. (Nine words copied from the task prompt were not counted.)
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion. The progression from treatment costs to industrial use is understandable, and phrases such as “As a result” and “Second opinion” signal relationships between ideas. However, connections are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For instance, “For my perspective” does not introduce the first reason naturally, and the link between free household water and companies using domestic taps needs clearer explanation. The conclusion also repeats the central claim rather than synthesising the reasons. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then explain and exemplify it in a clear sequence; vary linking expressions and ensure references such as “it” and “they” have unmistakable meanings.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “fundamental human right,” “financial problems,” “industrial,” and “water penalties,” so the reader can follow the main argument. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the meaning less natural. Examples include “lots of work,” “water supply … free for tenant,” and “use water unconsciously,” where the intended meanings appear to be high demand, a free household supply, and careless or excessive use. “Dishonest business person” is also an imprecise description of the people you mean. Build a more precise set of expressions for water provision, treatment costs, household consumption, and commercial use, and check that each phrase expresses your intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional idea in “if every home provides free water” and a concession beginning “Although.” These attempts show some range, but errors in sentence formation and grammatical control are noticeable and can make parts difficult to follow. For example, “providing water free of cost it is does not make any sense” combines incompatible structures, while “it is definitely create” has an incorrect verb form. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “a person who started a business in his house and he always use water.” Practise building complete sentences around one main clause, then add subordinate clauses carefully; check verb forms, subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation when editing.
