Student answer (Band 5.0)
Introduction.I agree that water is a basic need of every human being and having fresh clean water is acually really benificial. Also water comes for free do it should be distributed free here is how and why.
Paragraph1.firstly water is important for everyone and its goverment job of there country to provide it for free if we are paying our tax giving to the country so the country should give us something for free too and water is a neccesity of human being like u need water to drink, shower, for cooking food etc if there is fresh water limitations than people will need to buy that water too then how the midlle class family is going to survive.
Paragraph2.Moreover countries like uganda or african countries have water shortage in there home there goverment need somthing to do to get water they should invest in team water my Mr beast who acually gone to africa and digged wells for them for fresh water.Peopke like him is a need for this wrold i mean getting fresh water is not even that hard as people have made it just need investment and its the prime ministers job if he is getting votes so he should acually do something for their people.
In conclusion i would like to say is that if humans noy getting free water they should stand for themselves and do protest on it if goverment cant even provide water what will they do afterwards then so free water for life thank you.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you agree that households should receive water free of charge, and you give relevant reasons, including water’s importance for drinking and cooking and the government’s responsibility to provide it. The example of well-building in Uganda also relates to access to clean water. However, the response addresses the issue only partially because it does not examine what “free of charge” means in practice or develop the argument with specific explanation. The claim that tax payments mean people should receive water for free is asserted rather than explained, and the discussion of water shortages shifts toward investment without clearly connecting this to free household supply. Develop each reason and support it with a precise example or explanation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its basic structure. Sequencing words such as “firstly” and “Moreover” signal the start of supporting points. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from taxes to household needs and then to middle-class survival without clearly linking the ideas. The second combines water shortages, a charity project, investment and political responsibility in a long sequence. Some linking is repetitive or mechanical, and references such as “there” and “it” are not always clear. Use one main idea per paragraph, connect each supporting sentence explicitly to it, and punctuate sentences so the relationships between ideas are easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “fresh clean water,” “water shortage,” “invest” and “wells,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “water comes for free,” “fresh water limitations” and “getting fresh water is not even that hard.” Frequent spelling errors—including “goverment,” “neccesity” and “Peopke”—also make the writing less clear and reduce control of vocabulary. Aim for accurate, formal phrases such as “provide a reliable water supply” and “limited access to clean water.” Check spelling carefully and avoid informal wording like “u” and “something to do” in an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to express reasons using longer sentences and clauses, for example, “if we are paying our tax … so the country should give us something for free too.” However, complex sentences are often faulty or run together, and the range of sentence structures remains limited. Errors in agreement and sentence construction appear in phrases such as “people like him is a need” and “if humans noy getting free water.” Missing or misplaced punctuation also makes sentence boundaries unclear, particularly in the body paragraphs and conclusion. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause, then use full stops and commas to separate ideas. Review subject–verb agreement and conditional forms.
