Student answer (Band 5.0)

Many people argue that clean water is a basic human right and it is provided without any fee. In my point of view i completely disagree on this because if there is a fee on providing clean water to people then it doest not accessable to everyone. Everyone cannot afford it. The second thing i agree on this statement because if clean water is not supply without fee most people use dirty one for their need. This causes for health issues.

Firstly we discuss how clean water is not accessable for everyone if there is a fee for supply. For example A person who does not have that much resources to pay fee to access water than how he can get clean water. So, he cannot have access to pure and fresh water.Thats why i completely disagree on charging the fee for supply of water to every home.

Secondly,How without access of clean water can cause to health issues.

I explain answer of this question. For example A person who have no access to clean water because of financial reasons then he will use the non-filtered water.

So, when he use that non-filtered water some health issues occur like kidney, Stomach and lungs issues.

As a result, i believe there will be no fee on supply clean water because if there is a fee on providing clean water then it is not accessable for everyone and it aslo cause for health issues. I think the goverment take step for this to make sure provide clean water without charging any fee to people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is difficult to follow because the opening says, “I completely disagree,” but then adds, “The second thing i agree on this statement.” The body and conclusion suggest you oppose charging households, yet this contradiction weakens the response to the central agree/disagree question. You give relevant reasons—people with limited resources may lack access, and unsafe water can cause illness—and the examples of non-filtered water and health problems support the topic. However, these points remain general and are not explained in much depth; the health effects, for instance, are listed rather than clearly linked to wider consequences. State your position consistently and develop each reason with a clearer explanation or specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The ideas are broadly grouped by reason, and markers such as “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “As a result” help signal the sequence. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear or repetitive. The opening’s conflicting views make it hard to identify the argument, while “I explain answer of this question” interrupts the discussion rather than connecting ideas. Several sentences repeat that people cannot access clean water if they must pay, without adding a new step to the reasoning. Use topic sentences that state each reason, then explain and illustrate it in order; also use pronouns and linking phrases carefully so relationships between claims are clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “clean water,” “financial reasons,” “non-filtered water” and “health issues.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are repeated, particularly “access,” “fee” and “clean water.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “not accessable,” “charging the fee for supply of water,” and “causes for health issues.” Spelling errors, including “goverment,” “aslo” and “Thats,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise phrases such as “afford a water bill,” “access to safe drinking water” and “lead to health problems.” Check spelling and choose natural collocations, while retaining the clear, relevant vocabulary you already use.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including conditional structures such as “if there is a fee … then it is not accessable for everyone.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the meaning harder to follow. Examples include “it doest not accessable,” “A person who have no access,” and “when he use,” where verb forms and subject–verb agreement are incorrect. Articles and sentence construction also need attention, as in “without access of clean water can cause to health issues.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, especially at sentence beginnings and around examples. Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, tense and articles before adding clauses. Greater control of these patterns would make your argument easier to read.
