Student answer (Band 5.5)
Clean water is one of the basic needs of human life. Everyone needs it for drinking, cooking, and cleaning. I strongly agree that every home should have access to clean water free of charge because it is essential for good health and should be available to everyone.
The main reason why i agree with this idea is that clean water is necessary for a healthy life. If people drink dirty water, they may suffer from serious diseases such as cholera and diabetes. Poor families often cannot afford to pay high water bills, so providing free water would help them healthier lives. For example, in Pakistan, some peoples living in rural areas struggle to get safe drinking water. Free water supplies could improve their health and quality of life.
Another important reason is that water is necessary for daily activities. People need it for cooking, washing clothes and maintain their personal hygiene. If water were free, families would have less pressure especially those with low income. However, governments should start awareness program and provide clean water all areas and started filtration plants. They provide free water all houses because anyone cannot afford water bills.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that every home should receive clean water free of charge because it is essential for health and daily life. If people drink clean water they feel healthy and be safe serious disease. Governments should strict action against dirty water and installed new filtration plant. They provide clean water supplies all the areas free of cost and regular checked the filtration plants.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction to the conclusion: you strongly agree that clean water should be supplied free because it supports health and daily life. You address both the human-rights implication and practical benefits, and the Pakistan example makes the discussion relevant. However, the two main reasons are not developed equally: the health point includes a consequence and example, while the daily-use point mostly lists activities. The response also shifts briefly to recommendations about awareness programmes and filtration plants without explaining how these support free household supply. To strengthen the argument, explain who should fund the service, or distinguish essential household water from unlimited use, and develop each example more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The progression from health to daily activities is easy to follow, and phrases such as “The main reason” and “Another important reason” signal the structure. Some connections are less clear within the second body paragraph: the move from water being free to awareness programmes and filtration plants is abrupt, and “They” does not clearly identify whether it refers to governments or plants. The conclusion repeats the main position but introduces further recommendations rather than drawing together the reasons. Use clearer referencing and connect each proposed action explicitly to your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use adequate vocabulary for the topic, including “safe drinking water,” “personal hygiene,” “water bills” and “filtration plants.” These terms help communicate the main ideas, and the meaning is generally understandable. However, several expressions are imprecise or awkward, such as “help them healthier lives,” “some peoples,” “provide clean water all areas” and “regular checked.” Repetition of “free water,” “clean water” and “water” also limits variety. Aim for more natural collocations and accurate word forms, while keeping the language clear. For instance, you could describe the benefit as improving families’ health and refer to people in rural areas who lack access to safe supplies.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use a mixture of simple sentences and some more complex forms, including the conditional “If people drink dirty water, they may suffer…” and “If water were free…”. These structures help explain consequences, and the overall message remains understandable. However, errors occur in several sentence patterns: “providing free water would help them healthier lives” lacks a required verb pattern, while “People need it for cooking, washing clothes and maintain…” does not keep the list grammatically parallel. There are also agreement and sentence-construction problems in “They provide free water all houses” and “If people drink clean water they feel healthy and be safe…”. Check verb forms, articles and punctuation, and revise complex sentences to ensure each clause is complete.
