Student answer (Band 6.0)
In today's modern and fast- paced world, most of the homes do not have access water and most of them are being provided with contaminated water. Majority of people believe that among all the basic human rights, access to clean water is one of the most crucial and necessary one. And in large part of world to get clean water charges are needed to pay. I strongly believe that clean water should be provided in all part of world free of charges as it plays significant role in financial stability and prevent large number of diseases and give healthy lifestyle.
One of the primary reasons for this is that it assists financial security. In biggest and strongest countries of world most of the citizens have to pay huge price to get clean water which create disturbance of budget and make livelihood much more difficult. Having free water provide a chance to a person to save this money for future and he can use it in future to cope with unplanned events which can occur at any time. For example, In Qatar poverty rate is very low and reason behind this is that moat of individuals are provided clean water without any cost and they can save some money from there income to use it in future.
Another reason for this is that it is one of the key features of healthy lifestyle. We all know that in this modern world most of the people are dealing with different kind of infections or diseases and this is due to not having enough clean water. As most of the residents do not have enough budget to buy clean water so they mostly take water which they can get easily and as a result they get infected by deadly infections. If clean water is provided to them free of cost, they can live healthy life without catching any disease. For instance, countries with widespread access to clean water see a significant increase in average life expectancy and a reduction in healthcare burdens.
In conclusion, I would say that having accessible and clean water is extremely important as it plays a vital role in providing financial stability and also provide a chance to live a healthy and beautiful life without catching any disease or infection.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear: you strongly support free access to clean water, and both body paragraphs give relevant reasons—household financial security and better health. The examples, including Qatar and the link between clean water and life expectancy, help illustrate your argument. This meets the task well, but the support is uneven: the Qatar claim is asserted rather than explained or substantiated, and the health paragraph could clarify how free provision would ensure safe water for everyone. The prompt asks whether every home should receive water free of charge, while parts of your response broaden this to provision “in all part of world.” Keep the focus on universal household supply and develop the practical implications, such as who would fund it, to make the argument more fully convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and the conclusion restates your position. Signposting such as “One of the primary reasons” and “Another reason” makes the progression easy to follow. However, these transitions are somewhat formulaic, and some links between claims need clearer explanation. For example, the Qatar example is followed by a claim about poverty and free water without showing how one leads to the other. In the health paragraph, the movement from limited budgets to unsafe water and then to life expectancy could be connected more explicitly. Use a wider range of referencing and linking, and ensure each example directly supports the point it follows.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “contaminated water,” “financial stability,” “infections,” and “life expectancy,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “primary reasons” and “plays a vital role.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, which limits precision: “huge price” is less natural than “high cost,” and “healthy and beautiful life” does not express the intended point precisely. Some forms are also incorrect, as in “in all part of world” and “from there income.” Aim to use common academic collocations accurately and vary repeated words such as “clean water,” “diseases,” and “provide.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “If clean water is provided to them free of cost, they can live healthy life.” This shows some range, and the overall meaning remains understandable. However, errors occur across many sentences and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include missing articles in “most of the homes” and “live healthy life,” subject–verb agreement in “which create disturbance” and “it plays … and prevent,” and incorrect sentence construction in “And in large part of world to get clean water charges are needed to pay.” Punctuation and spacing are also inconsistent. Practise accurate article use, agreement, and complete sentence patterns before adding further complexity.
