Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that households should receive water without charge, and you give relevant reasons involving health, pollution, laundry, and plants. The discussion of contaminated water and disease is the most directly connected to the human-rights argument. However, the response only partly develops the task: it does not explain how free provision could be funded or distinguish access to safe drinking water from providing all household water free. The points about washing clothes and improving fruit quality are asserted rather than supported with examples or explanation, and the latter is less clearly linked to the question. Develop fewer reasons in more depth and make each one directly support your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an identifiable opening, a body of supporting points, and a concluding statement that restates your view. This gives it some organisation, and the ideas are generally related to the topic. However, progression within the body is difficult to follow because several different claims—pollution, disease, laundry, and plant growth—are joined in one long paragraph. Connectors such as “so,” “also,” and “Beside this” are repetitive or awkward, and the relationship between some claims is not made explicit. Use separate paragraphs for distinct reasons, begin each with a clear topic sentence, and use linking phrases that show whether you are adding a reason, giving an example, or drawing a result.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “water pollution,” “industrial waste,” “agricultural pesticide,” “marine species,” and “detergents.” These choices show an effort to discuss environmental and household effects. However, the range is limited and many spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make the writing less clear, for example “aviliabilty,” “soft water,” “freely access,” and “make good effects.” “Soft water” is also not an accurate substitute for safe or drinkable water in this argument. Build a reliable set of topic phrases and check spelling and natural combinations; for instance, use “access to safe drinking water” and “have a positive effect on health.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to express reasons and results using longer sentences, including the explanation of pollution and its effects. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and complex attempts are often faulty, so readers must work to interpret some points. Examples include “it everyone should have freely access,” “government should provided it,” and “it impacts great on human health.” There are recurring problems with subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries; the opening also begins with fragments and inconsistent punctuation. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine related ideas with clauses such as “because” and “which.” Check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
